President's Message
Dear Members,
I hope you have had a happy holiday season. I wish you health, happiness, and success in the new year. As we enter the second decade of the new millennium, we are increasingly aware of the saying "time and tide wait on no one." Time goes by very quickly, and as IEs we have to take charge and control our own destiny. New challenges face every country where our members live, and no doubt other countries as well, in the wake of the worst economic downturn in recent memory. The positive take on this situation is to see the glass as "half full" instead of half empty. Economic adversity represents a genuine opportunity for IEs to apply our unique talents to improve productivity and competitiveness. Our profession has already demonstrated its contributions to the manufacturing and service sectors. Now is the time for our division to lay the foundation for making a contribution to the construction industry. More from the president |

Student Liaison's Message
From Bobby Smyth:
First, hopefully everyone has recovered from finals and had a relaxing holiday break! Next, my hope is to get in contact with any and all members during the break and into next quarter. Keeping all sports bias aside, I'm from Ohio State and we have a great school, but I know this division has many members from many great schools. So please, if you have a minute, send me a note or give me a call anytime (513) 479-9806 - I could use some stories about good IIE experiences as well as lessons learned. More from Bobby |
