Southeast Region News

 September 2009
Hello everyone!

Happy summer to everyone!  With the school year starting and football season right around the corner, we have a lot of exciting news for upcoming events including a FREE webinar on "The Economy of Scope and the Lean Engineer," a tailgating mixer at Auburn, the University of Florida ISE Department's 75th Anniversary celebration, and many other future events!

I hope everyone enjoyed the summer break. For those professionals out there who did not get a break (such as myself), I have a special challenge for you. In an attempt to let our students know all of the vast opportunities out there for industrial engineers, I invite you to write in to us so we can share your story. If interested, please e-mail me with the following:
  • School attended, hometown
  • Current position, company and industry
  • How you utilize your IE skills on a daily basis

We would also like to ask that other professional and student chapters of IIE send in what is happening with your chapter. This will allow us to promote these happenings by publishing in the newsletter and posting on the regional Web site.

We look forward to hearing from you! The more information and options we can provide to our students, the easier their job search will be after graduation!

Thanks!
