Why You Should Buy Your Fall Arrest Equipment from Sapsis Rigging.....
Anyone can sell Fall Arrest equipment, there's no special license required. What you do need, however, if you are going to tell someone how to use Fall Arrest equipment, is experience. There is a reason why Sapsis Rigging is continuously called on to design and install fall arrest equipment around the country. There is a reason why SRI provides safety equipment and training for Broadway shows like Evita, Sister Act, Bonnie and Clyde, and War Horse. There is a reason why Bill Sapsis lectures on Fall Arrest systems at conferences, trade shows, IA locals and many other organizations around the world. Experience. Bill brings his 40 years of experience to every SRI project. SRI's ETCP Certified staff bring a combined total of over 85 years of experience. That's 125 years of experience with every harness, lanyard and lifeline we sell!
Sapsis Rigging brought out the ProPlus line of Fall Arrest equipment in 2007 to meet the very stringent requirements of the ANSI/ASSE Z359-2007 standards. We also believed it was high time that technicians working at height in the entertainment industry had equipment designed to meet their needs. Then when new standards were published in 2009, Sapsis Rigging was there to meet the challenge. Who better to design this equipment than a rigger?
So, yes, anyone can sell Fall Arrest equipment, but understanding it takes getting your hands dirty and working with the equipment day after day. Do the folks at Sapsis Rigging understand Fall Arrest equipment? You betcha! We've been using the gear ourselves for years.

NEW! from Sapsis Rigging: The Technician™
 | | ProPlus: The Technician™ |
The Technician™ harness is designed for use by those whose work requires using multiple safety systems at one time. Climbing a wire rope ladder to reach a truss and then traversing along the truss is one example of a multiple safety system requirement.
Only one snap hook or other connector is allowed to be attached to a fall arrest ring at any time, per OSHA requirements (1910.66 App C). The Technician™ harness is equipped with two dorsal rings, one of which is attached to the end of a 9" extension. The extension allows the worker to meet the OSHA requirement and makes it easier to connect to a Self Retracting Lifeline (SRL).
Harness specifications:
- Cross over style
- Dorsal and sternum rings
- Additional extended dorsal ring
- Hip rings for work positioning
- Shoulder adjustment points
- Adjustable leg straps
- Leg and shoulder pads for comfort

- Bayonet buckle connectors

Fire Curtain Frame at Founder's Hall
| SRI spent a good portion of this summer working with Fire Curtains. Founders Hall at the Milton Hershey School has a 21,000 pound framed curtain with asbestos covers on both sides. Michael Sapsis and crew worked with the abatement company and the EPA to replace the asbestos with Zetex. They also added a new winch and control system. They finished 3 days early (and on budget!) so everyone is happy. (Especially Bill.)
At the College of William and Mary the problem wasn't the curtain, it's Zetex already, but the masonry wall around the proscenium opening. It was in need of repair. So, out came the fire curtain and half of the stage rigging to give the GC room to work. When they were done, back went the curtains and the rigging. A new winch and control system went in here also. They finished this project early and on budget too.

"The author of the book happens to be one of my favorite folks of all time. I can barely imagine any time more enjoyably spent than in reading what follows in the book . . . He is the MASTER . . . and, thank heaven, wonderfully silly with it. My life has benefited immeasurably from his being embroiled in it, as my closest friend and colleague." - Tony Walton Code: 12-09-83-4796 Price: $46.00
