Ranch Rodeo Recap
  Staff from the Flying W Ranch (which, sadly, burned to the ground as a result of the Waldo Canyon Fire) helped serve free Callicrate burgers, above, to evacuees during the Ride for the Brand Championship Rodeo June 30. At right, Jim Grubelnik of Lubbock, Tex., makes a pan of chicken-fried steak for his chuckwagon champion team during the cook-off. More than 400 people came out to sample the chow from five historically authentic chuckwagons.

Special Fire Follow-up
Ranch Foods Direct and many partner restaurants provided free meals to firefighters and assisted with Waldo Canyon Fire relief efforts in various ways. Now is a good time to get out and support our restaurant-partners on the west-side and in Manitou Springs, where the biggest economic disruption occurred. Following are a few suggestions...

Greg's cafe on Centennial was dangerously close to the fire zone. Businesses in and near Mountain Shadows will need our continued support. Photo of Greg, above, is by Hal Walter for the Arkansas Valley Organic Growers Cooperative. charming Coquette's Bakery and Bistro in Manitou Springs
(open daily except for Tuesdays.
)

This "fun bastion of cool" got a rave review in the
CS Indy recently for serving a Callicrate burger that was a "masterpiece of beef and bread" and "sang with smoky flavor."
