May Is Older Americans Month
Each May is Older Americans Month. Together with Senior Citizens Day (May 19), Older Americans Month is a celebration of the contributions our older citizens have made to society, and is a chance for communities to give back and recognize the accomplishments of their elders.
Ohio's theme for Older Americans Month 2009 is: "Reinvent Yourself, Reinvent Aging." Communities and organizations throughout AAA8 are hosting special events to celebrate Older Americans Month and Senior Citizens Day. Visit ODA's web site for an Event Planning and Promotion Guide. We encourage local senior centers, organizations, community leaders to add your event to the statewide list.
The AAA8 office compiled the following list, available on the AAA8 web site. |
