Kingswood Connected
Celebrate Kingswood

October 11, 2012

Greetings   James Preston for email

Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say rejoice! Let your gentleness be known to everyone. The Lord is near.

Philippians 4: 4-5

On Sunday, we begin our annual stewardship campaign. The theme is "Celebrate Kingswood"!! We will journey through five weeks of devotions, witnesses, study, and worship reminding us of all that God has given us. In addition, each of us will be invited to consider prayerfully our financial and service commitments to the ministry at Kingswood. In both worship services on November 11, our church family will have the great opportunity to celebrate as we offer our gifts and our financial commitments for 2013. These weeks will be a wonderful time of CELEBRATION!

This Sunday, we will celebrate our deep desire to uplift those in our church and in the community around us. In Philippians, Paul reminds the church to give thanks and rejoice - to celebrate every day. When we are glad and thankful, our hearts desire to share gentle care with others. Two years ago while on retreat, I was invited to pray for one hour aloud, offering everything for which I was thankful. I thought it would take a few minutes, but as I prayed to God, the list grew and grew. I did not finish in one hour. WOW - I was abundantly blessed. I was challenged to consider a bolder effort to serve the community around me.

Kingswood UMC has served our community in many bold ways. What makes you rejoice and be glad at Kingswood? How is God calling you to serve? Join us Sunday as we celebrate community and CELEBRATE KINGSWOOD!

In Christ,

Pastor James

Invite your friends and neighbors!
