 Greetings! Thoughts from the Pastor
As we go ..... As we part ... A few weeks ago we began singing a new song to close our time of worship. But the choice of song ended up to be an accident. I had originally chosen another, but when I gave Charlene one to copy for the bulletin, it was this one. And so we've been singing ... As we go, may the Spirit go before us. As we go, may we follow where You lead. May we live what we have learned, share the message we have heard, and be a light unto the world as we go.
The words of the other song are also a prayer ... and they seem even more appropriate this week as we prepare to bless Sang Hun, Heesung and David as they depart from our midst:
As we part for the towns and cities, where You summon us to go, guide us Lord, give us strength and courage, teach us all we need to know. Keep us humble, fixed on you, forever seeking, born a-new. Kindle holy fires within us; may your Holy Spirit glow.
We pray God's blessing on the ministry to which this family is called at the Ashton UMC. We pledge our continued prayers for them all as they grow in service, love and hope in the new community to which they are being summoned. We are grateful for their sojourn with us at Kingswood for these three years and for all we have learned from and shared with them.
God blesses each of us with a call to service and love. And we each bring particular gifts and graces as we respond to that call. We have been blessed by the humility, heart and hope that we've known in Sang Hun. May we each find the grace to share the unique gifts we've been given in faithful ministry in our churches and in the world.
Blessings!!!! Rev. Margaret Gramley |

Summer Interfaith Book Conversations
The Faith Club

A Muslim, A Christian, A Jew --- Three Women Search for Understanding in The Faith Club. Ranya Idliby, an American Muslim with Palestinian roots, wasn't sure how to answer her son's questions after the attacks of 911. One morning, as she waited with other mothers at the pre-school bus-stop, she asked Suzanne Oliver if she'd be interested in working with her on a project of writing a children's book about the connections between Muslims, Christians and Jews. Suzanne, who grew up Catholic and was now worshipping at an Episcopal church, asked her Jewish friend, Priscilla Warner, if she'd like to join them. Thus began a journey of years ... into deep friendship, difficult and delightful conversations, and an examination of their personal faith and the religion they claimed. Their journey is shared in this book which we will discuss at the July meeting of the Summer Interfaith Book Conversations. Rev. Gramley and Rabbi Bellows will facilitate our discussion. Books available in the church office and Fireside Room. We'll meet on July 13 at 7pm at Kingswood. |

The construction is complete on the labyrinth. This is his Eagle project and he has been working for several months making plans, getting approval and learning about prayer labyrinths. If you are in the area, stop by to see the final product. |
