The United Nations declared November 25th as the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women in 1999.  It is a day for governments, international organizations, NGOs, the private sector and individuals to come together to raise awareness of violence against women and girls -
a problem so pervasive that up to 70 percent of women experience some form of violence in their lifetimes
.

Welcome to the first edition of the Zonta Fort CollinsZonta Kris J picture Newsletter.  You may wonder what is Zonta?   I will gladly answer your question.  Zonta is an International Women's service organization whose mission is to advance the status of women worldwide.  Our newsletters will introduce you to other amazing women, such as yourself who share your passion to empower women, as well as cover women's issues and Zonta projects.

We are looking for women in business, women business owners and/or other professional women such as those in healthcare, leadership or education roles to join us.  More importantly is that you have a passion for empowering women.  We invite you to join us on our journey to improve the lives of women locally and globally.
