Dear Families,

Halloween at the New York Kids Club always brings me great joy as I have the opportunity to see your little ones masquerade as various critters and creatures expanding their imaginations and exploring their individuality.  We celebrate the holiday Tuesday through Friday this week as well as Halloween day next week with pumpkins, ghosts and instructors in costume. I am excited to make my rounds this week and identify our 2's Club students through their Halloweens disguises.  We encourage the children to dress up in costume for each of their classes this week and for you to stop in to witness the festivities in person.

Art time will be full of surprises as the children decorate their own Trick or Treat bags using colored chalk and Halloween themed stickers - always a big hit with the children.  Students will be invited to stop by the front desk with their newly created Trick or Treat bag for a special Halloween treat.

Sensory time will be filled with "ooey and gooey" pumpkin carving.  Instructors will assist the children in identifying all of the different parts of the pumpkin (i.e. the seeds, the stem, the meat, etc.). This project is a little messy, but so much fun.  A great sensory activity for everyone! 

The Halloween celebration continues in the gym where the students will have the chance to participate in coordination activities with ghost shaped balloons.  A slimy suprise will creep and crawl across our plates during snack time.  

* Note:  Monday classes will celebrate Halloween next week on 10/31.  Those students will follow a regular 2's Club curriculum on 10/24.
