Dear Parents,
Often times, open-ended questions such as "What did you do today?" are difficult for preschool-age children to answer. Our hope is that the information included in these weekly newsletters will provide you with the opportunity to engage in conversation with your child about a few of the wonderful experiences that he or she will participate in each week. In an effort to build a home/school connection, each newsletter will highlight one or more of the educational and physical components of the week. Our theme this week is the jungle and we will be visited by a puppet friend during music time ( a monkey!) as we sing about leopards, snakes and elephants. In the gym, students will hang like monkeys as they build upper body strength and confidence. Monkeys hang from trees using only their feet, but since the 2's Club is comprised solely of humans, children will practice touching their toes to the bar in a straddle instead! Also inspired by the jungle, our snack this week will be fruit kabobs of many-colored melons!
As part of our ongoing commitment to foster and strengthen our Early Enrichment communities, we will also be distributing a class list. Social and emotional development are key components of our curriculum and it is our hope that the class list will enable you to speak with your children about their interactions with classmates or to schedule play dates throughout the week. Please feel free to contact me or your child's teachers with any questions. I look forward to seeing you soon.
Sincerely,
 Gair Morris Director |
