Dear Parents,
This week, we turn our attention to all things GREEN as interactive time, art projects, songs, stories, and discussions center on this verdant color. Students will be visited by Frankie the Frog during music and movement to sing "This Land Is Your Land" and our discussions will focus on forests, jungles and green animals and their habitats and behaviors. For the primary art project, children will experiment with green paint and recycled newspaper. Students will be encouraged to collage and create their own masterpiece. The NY Kids believes in providing process oriented art projects throughout each semester. This allows children the opportunity to create for the sake of creating without the expectation of an end product. Take a moment and ask your artist how they created their collage or what were they thinking while creating it rather than "What is it?" During our sports and coordination unit, students will be participating in a sport that is played on a green field - football! Throwing a ball requires students to utilize their hand-eye coordination: operating one arm independently while watching the target is harder than it looks. You can assist you child at home by encouraging them to place their elbow by their ear and THROW! Green isn't just a color at the New York Kids Club, it is also a movement and a lifestyle. We approach our daily operations with an awareness and respect for the local and global community. Your child's health and safety is our top priority as we strive to maintain the cleanest, safest, and most environmentally conscious facilities in the industry.
Think green and have a wonderful week!
Sincerely,
 Gair Morris Director |
