With summer upon us, what better way to jumpstart our imaginations than with a book? This year's Summer Adventure Camp theme is Classic Children's Literature and each week campers will crack open a new world, cooking, dancing, singing and playing their way through some of the greatest stories ever written.
Despite a full day of fun and games, it can often be difficult for a child to answer an open ended question like "What did you do at camp today?" With that in mind, we have provided a few highlights from the week to open up the conversation between you and your camper. |

WEEK 8
James and the Giant Peach
"You have a lot of legs," James murmured.
"I have a lot of boots," the centipede answered.
- What surprise will you find inside the peach your camper made? What did we use to make our cloud masks?

- In the gym this week we travel into the peach to meet the bugs. Which was tougher: getting through the tangled spider web or grasshopper jumping down the tumble track?
- Things get peachy when we make a smoothie together in the kitchen. Which fruits did you use?
- We're all transformed into Broadway hoofers for our creative movement routine. See if your camper can sing you a little bit of the song with the choreography. HINT: If you can make it there, you'll make it anywhere.
- Defying gravity is no small task. We discuss this scientific concept and try to get our 'peach' to fly. What did we use to get the peach to float?
