SUMMER CAMP NEWSLETTER
July 18th, 2011
With summer upon us, what better way to jumpstart our imaginations than with a book? This year's Summer Adventure Camp theme is Classic Children's Literature and each week campers will crack open a new world, cooking, dancing, singing and playing their way through some of the greatest stories ever written.

Despite a full day of fun and games, it can often be difficult for a child to answer an open ended question like "What did you do at camp today?"  With that in mind, we have provided a few highlights from the week to open up the conversation between you and your camper.

WEEK 7

The Little Prince

"One sees clearly only with the heart. The essential is invisible to the eyes."

  • The gym will challenge us with the same obstacles the Little Prince faced.  Which was toughest? Crossing the snake pit, tromping through the rose garden, or climbing over the desert dunes?

  • Our resident yogis practice their animal poses, see if your camper can show you snake, fox or sheep.

  • The Kids Club kitchen is transformed into a French pastry shop as we craft our own petit fours. What ingredients did you use for this delectable treat?

  • Keep the light alive! How did your camper's team do in the lamp lighting relays?

  • Our future astronauts explore the solar system, hopping planet to planet.  Which planet is your favorite? Why?
