Dear Parents,

Welcome to the New York Kids Club Early Enrichment Center's 2's Club. We are thrilled to begin a new season of learning and fun with your children.

Parent communication is a cornerstone of our mission statement and this weekly E-newsletter is just one of our ways of committing to this mission.  This letter will arrive in your in box on Sunday evenings and will contain a preview of some of the week's activities.

I would like to inform you of some materials you will be receiving during our first several weeks of class. We are very excited to provide your family a copy of our NYKC Greatest Hits CD.  These original songs are sung each week during class and it is our hope that you will enjoy singing along with your children at home!  In addition there will be a book list, class list and special events calendar handed out after class next week.  It is our hope that all of these supplemental materials will allow you to feel apart of your child's educational experience.

A few additional reminders before the first week of class:
  • Separation is the goal for all children enrolled in our 2's Club.  Please allow your child to begin an independent learning experience as soon as possible.  If your child requires your presence, you may enter the classroom and wait in the designated adult area. This encourages your child to begin on his or her own, with you in sight, but without any verbal or physical participation from you.  When both you and your child are comfortable we ask that you say a quiet goodbye and leave the classroom.  It is a policy of the New York Kids Club not to "sneak out."  As we foster a community of trust, we prefer that you tell your child when you are leaving (no matter how difficult that may be).  This may mean remaining present for as long as necessary as we work together to achieve separation when it is best for your child.
  • Please provide one full change of clothes and multiple diapers/pullups in a large Ziploc bag with your child's name clearly labeled on it.  Bathroom breaks will occur frequently for those children in the process of toilet training.
  • Please refrain from sending any additional snack, sippy cups or water bottles with your child to class. We will accommodate any dietary restrictions your child may have and we ensure that each student has plenty of water throughout each class period.
It is a distinct pleasure for the staff and myself to be working with your children. I always look forward to visiting with you and watching your children grow.

The entire New York Kids Club team is dedicated to making this class a nurturing, safe and fun educational experience for your child.

Please feel free to contact me or your Location Manager with any questions.  I look forward to seeing you soon.

Sincerely,

Gair Morris
