My annual "training week" keeps getting better. This time, I felt as if a veil lifted. I looked at the slope with different eyes. I saw a panorama rather than a mine field.
I confirmed my suspicion today at my annual ER ski conference at The Canyons. I skied nearly everything as long, fluid runs rather than turn - turn - stop- turn -stop. I felt in charge in bumps, crud, steep bumps and steep crud. I blew past nearly everyone on blue bumps.
I tried to trace a seeming breakthrough: Mark's boot fitting, Steve's aphorisms, Mark's keen progression, Lisa's exactness, Bil's ski simulator coaching or Piglet's dedication (and chocolate ?) They are all part. They chiseled away at complete non-skier who couldn't even navigate a groomed blue. You, however were the grand artisan. Four years ago, after enrolling in your class the first time, you literally put your arm around and transformed a timid skier who thought he got in over his head. You rehabilitated bad habit after bad habit. Mostly, I am amazed that your ability to identify the NEXT corrective action. I could be doing twenty things wrong, but you accurately pick the next tool needed. I guess after four camps, you got through most of mine. Not bad considering my starting point.
Well, I hope you are well. I am tremendously glad I met you and all your CSM coaches and plan for further instruction.

Just thought I would let you know that I was really delighted with the way I was skiing today. Shame there was no video to verify that some of the CSM essence has finally taken hold. Did some stuff on Highlands today which would have been seriously red-light territory not very long ago and felt totally relaxed and in control.
I was definitely "keeping my unit together" and "committing my core to the future" and we were skiing double blacks virtually all day!
You are a great coach as well as a great skier!
