A word from John on the Clendenin Ski Method Camps
The Clendenin Ski Method Camps are for all skiers who feel comfortable skiing groomed terrain. Some people are under the impression that our camps are for bumps only. These potential clients have concerns about skiing moguls all day, not looking good, getting worn out or holding their group up. This is not the case. First and foremost the Clendenin Ski Method Camps are about the skills to ski with control, to feel safer, and as a result, to look better.
Each group starts with fundamentals. As returning Campers know, we only advance beyond blue groomed terrain with ownership of the basics or what we call the Keys to the Kingdom. Once understood and developed, the Keys to the Kingdom open the door of confidence to ski more of the mountain (if you chose). Our method has garnered its international reputation for leading people safely in a time-saving manner to the joy of great skiing.

Scrape Speed: Practice on Groomers
On a groomed blue run, check speed before each turn with an aggressive engagement of the uphill top ski. Make short radius turns in the fall line, braking with the little-toe edge of the uphill ski until you can maintain constant speed for multiple turns. With each check, you should feel the sensation of balance and repeating pressure on the pad of the little-toe side of the uphill foot (the Breakthrough Pad©). Continue the drill until you can maintain a constant speed for multiple turns on steep groomed terrain.
