DC's own Ralph Waldo "Petey" Greene
(January 23, 1931 - January 10, 1984) was
legendary. You've seen the movie, now hear
the truth! Listen to Lurma Rackley, author of
"Laugh If You Like, Ain't A Damn thing Funny -
The Life Story of Ralph "Petey" Greene as told
to Lurma Rackley; Sugar Ray Leonard,
Middleweight Champion of the World; James
Brown, NFL sportscaster for FOX News;
Colbert King, Washington Post columnist and
Rudy Yates, Director of EFFECT (Efforts for
Ex-Convicts), an organization Petey Greene
co-founded over 30 years ago. On Air Host
Roach Brown, who was a close friend to
Petey, will share with his guests witty and
insightful thoughts on Petey.
Copies of the DVD, "Adjust Your Color: The
Truth of Petey Greene" will be offered as a
pledge gift during WPFW's fundraising drive.
Immediately following the live call-in show, a
Petey Greene Reception will be held at
Wilson's Restaurant, 700 V Street, NW,
202.462.3700. An open mike will be held
during the reception. Prizes will be awarded
to the person with the best Petey Greene
joke/story/song. Come, enjoy and
