Perspective
Even the most uneducated builder knows that if the
foundation is not solid, no matter what is built on it will not last. It's like the parable of the sand:
"Anyone
who listens to my teaching and obeys me is wise, like a person who builds a
house on solid rock. Though the rain comes in torrents and the
floodwaters rise and the winds beat against that house, it won't collapse,
because it is built on rock. But anyone who hears my teaching and
ignores it is foolish, like a person who builds a house on sand. When the rains and floods come and the winds beat against that house, it will
fall with a mighty crash." NLT Matthew 7:24-27 ...more

Real People
The following interview was conducted with Frank DeCanio.
Frank was born and grew up in Brooklyn, NY and married Veronica in 1959. The DeCanio's came to Dallas in 1986 when Frank began attending Dallas Theological Seminary. Following Seminary, they served as missionaries in Africa. They moved to Fairview in January of 2005 and began attending Grace in 2007. Frank currently serves as Director of Grace Center for Biblical Studies.
How would you describe the Grace Center for Biblical Studies?
GCBS is a response to Pastor Joel's five year plan for Grace Church. Fundamentally, GCBS is intended to serve as a biblical training center where members of Grace could receive in-depth, systematic instruction from the Bible and be trained to handle the Word of God accurately. It is important to note the emphasis on "training." Through GCBS, we are not merely giving students an understanding of the Bible, but training them in the use of methods of Biblical study in order for them to gain an understanding through their own study. ...more

Ministry at Grace
Grace Bible Fellowship (GBF)
As Grace endeavors to fulfill its vision of challenging people to
biblical faithfulness, GBF stands ready to help accomplish this
vision. One of the greatest needs of believers today is to understand
how God speaks to His people through the Bible and how to make it
relevant to our daily lives. Fellowship with others and discovering
what God says is critical to our continued growth. Praying for others
lifts our spirit and reminds us that we are not in this journey alone.
We can find all of these components in GBF each week. ...more
Grace Center for Biblical Studies
I have often heard Bible teachers in our present day
describe the Christian as being a mile wide and an inch deep. What they are saying is that in spite of the
abundance of Bibles, bible study material, lectures, seminars and classes,
most people who identify themselves as Christians have very little knowledge of
the Bible. One commentator cited a few examples from various Bible knowledge
tests:
- David
and Goliath was the name of a ship.
-
Daniel,
who survived being thrown into the lions' den, was "The Lion
King". ... more Women's Bible StudiesWomen's Ministries of Grace is for all women of Grace - regardless of age, social standing, etc - all are included.
