Grace Connection
Greetings!

I'm sure you've heard it many times before, but the mission of the community of Grace Church is to reach people for Christ and to help those who believe in Christ, to become more like Him.  But what does that really mean?  How do the ministries of Grace Church fulfill that mission?  And most importantly, how can you and I be part of that mission?

This month the Grace Connection will begin a four month series focusing on the Four Core Values of Grace Church.  We'll begin with the fourth - Grace Church is outreached focused.

Blessings,

Joel Walters In the coming additions of our Grace Connection, we will be introducing the core values at Grace.  You are probably most familiar with our mission statement:  "We are here to reach people for Christ and to help those who believe become more like him."  Next would be our vision statement, which describes our preferred future.  It's what we want to be: "We desire to be a people of Christ-like character; providing our community with a Biblical witness and a foundation for living; bringing help and hope to those who are hurting; and making a positive impact in the world in which we live."

We also have Core values - those things that we deem most important and what we seek to practice in our ministry.  It's not the statement of faith, but the practical application of it.  This month I want to introduce our fourth core value:  Being outreached focused.  ...more

Ministry at Grace
AWANA
We live in a prosperous society, and even the poorest children in our community are blessed beyond measure.  It's my heart to give the children in AWANA a glimpse of just how fortunate they are by asking them to provide for those who are truly needy in other parts of the world.  From this glimpse at other cultures, it's our prayer that God would open their hearts to give more of themselves and dedicate themselves to extending their helping hands as well as sharing the Gospel both with their friends and neighbors and also internationally.   ...more

GEM Express
It is hard to believe we are in the 8th year of ministry at GEM Express Preschool & Kindergarten!  God continues to guide and grow this ministry as we seek to be faithful to His calling to reach our community for Christ and help those who know Him to be more like Him.

This year there are 119 children enrolled at GEM.  We are offering 12 classes to children 18 months.-6 years old.  God has continued to bless us with an awesome staff of caring and committed teachers and assistants to support our weekday preschool & kindergarten ministry.  Twenty-four women will be serving on the GEM staff this year.  The GEM board is led by Craig Hall, Christy Anderson, and Doug Gallagher.  The GEM board develops the vision for this ministry and determines guidelines for implementing the vision.  ...more

Homework Club
Do you ever wonder, "Should I be doing more to help in our community?" This fall Grace will be sponsoring disadvantaged students from a local elementary school. These children are on the reduced and free school lunch program because they come from families of low income. Frequently they are from single parent families who work long hours just to pay the bills.

So how can we help these families? For the second year, Grace will be providing school supplies to approximately  ...more

S.W.A.T.
Do not merely listen to the word, and do deceive yourselves.  Do what it says. James 1:22

God's word is filled with references to helping those in need - whether the widows, orphans and the poor of society, or people who are just in need of a helping hand.  We want to respond to the needs that exist in our community, so that through meeting these, we might live as Christ would have lived among them.

Would you be willing to be a "do-er of the Word?"  The S.W.A.T. (Servants With A Toolbox) team will be composed of those having a desire to help our community with special needs.  ...more
