'Honk! Jr. The Musical'
As Bowling Green prepares to host the American Idol Small Town Audition Bus Tour, young talent from across the region will be hoping they're ready for what could be that big break. Members of PTK's Sunburst Youth Theatre are certainly getting the practice now that could make the difference later! Show your support for these local performers by seeing 'Honk! Jr. The Musical' this weekend or next at The Phoenix Theatre.
This contemporary reimagining of the childhood classic, The Ugly Duckling, was the winner of the 2000 Olivier Award for Best New Musical and addresses impactful themes like acceptance and bullying. Show times are Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m. Tickets are just $10 for adults and $8 for children/ seniors/ students with both Saturday performances giving back to the local 'i love bg' Campaign! Sgt. Pepper on Abbey Road
Orchestra Kentucky, the resident orchestra of the new Southern Kentucky Performing Arts Center, will bring two of the Beatles' most beloved albums to life this Saturday as they present Sgt. Pepper on Abbey Road with selections from Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band and Abbey Road.
Why these two albums? According to Jeffrey Reed, music director of Orchestra Kentucky, they represent some of the Fab Four's best work: "These albums are iconic," said Reed. "Not only do they contain some of the greatest Beatles songs of all time, they also make sense for us to do. They both used extensive orchestrations."
Tickets range from $10 to $36 and can be purchased by calling 270-846-2426 or by visiting the link below.
