Heirloom TomatoFest 2012
"Farm to Table" is a phrase we've heard a lot these days. Nathan and Michelle Howell, owners of Need More Acres, invite the public out to celebrate this movement at Heirloom TomatoFest 2012 on Thursday. Taste over 20 varieties of Heirloom Tomatoes and visit with Josh Poling, owner of HOME Cafe & Marketplace, at the Chef Table joined by Hillbilly Grillers, Borderland Farms, The Fatted Calf, Kenny's Farmhouse Cheese, Esters Farm Baked Goods, and the Tomato Cook-Off table.
Other activities include Farm School programs, the painting of a community art mural on the side of their barn, and a silent auction featuring pieces of farm art by David Jones, Ashley Miller, Bald Man's Markings, and more. Proceeds benefit the Howell's Global Water Issues project in Honduras.
This family-friendly, community event is free and open to the public. Visit the link below or call 270-799-5563 for more information.

31st Annual National Corvette Homecoming
Since 1981, the National Corvette Homecoming has attracted Corvettes from all over the US and Canada. It is the annual gathering and celebration for Corvettes of all years to return home to Bowling Green, home of the Corvette Assembly Plant and Museum. The popular event cruises back into town this weekend featuring seminars, car corrals, vendor swaps, arts & crafts booths, judged shows, a road tour, and a Farewell party Saturday night to round out the celebration.
New activities added to the schedule include some unique "Techy Tours" of local gearhead places like QuickFuel Technologies, RC Components and Trace Die Cast. Ladies receive special treatment again with a Luncheon & Fashion Show, Pampered Chef Cooking Demonstrations, and a "For Ladies Only" seminar hosted by Gordon Killebrew.
Admission for spectators is just $10 per day and children under 12 are free. Visit the link below or call 270-791-2117 for more information.
