    Suessical the Musical

It's no surprise that a progressive town like Bowling Green has artistic talent flowing through it. The community theatre troupe of Fountain Square Players is a shining example of that talent! To close out its 2011-2012 season, FSP presents "Suessical the Musical" this weekend at WKU Van Meter Hall. Based on the works of Dr. Seuss and one of the most performed shows in America, "Seussical" is a fantastical, magical, musical extravaganza!

Tony winners Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty have lovingly brought to life all of our favorite Dr. Seuss characters, including Horton the Elephant, The Cat in the Hat, Gertrude McFuzz, lazy Mayzie, and a little boy with a big  imagination--Jojo. "Oh, the Thinks You Can Think" captures the show's spirit of imagination, as the colorful characters transport us from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus to the invisible world of the Whos.

Lost River Southern Summer Music Festival

Bringing back the glory days of its underground nite club, Lost River Cave holds an annual fundraising party on the ballroom floor in the mouth of the cave. This year, its time to get down with some good 'ole Southern rock at the Lost River Southern Summer Music Festival. Croon your favorite tune with non-stop Southern Rock on two stages or kick back and cool off with a tall one on the Riverwalk.

The award-winning Lost River Pizza Co. will sell pizza, appetizers, beer and wine. The two stages will feature music from headliner Salvage Town, Black Cat Cadillac, Shady Jake and the Upsetters, Kenton Bryant and other local artists. Tickets are $20 per person or $35 per couple in advance, or $25 per person at the door. Free boat tours will be offered from 6pm- 9pm. All proceeds go directly to funding Lost River Cave's new Nature Explore Outdoor Classroom.
