KY FIRST Lego League State Robotics Tournament
As more and more Americans become interested in where our food comes from, we're also faced with thoughts on how to keep it safe. That's why the 2011 FIRST LEGO League Challenge is "Food Factor: Keeping Food Safe." This Saturday, about 400 children on 42 teams will gather at WKU's Diddle Arena for the Kentucky FIRST LEGO League State Robotics Competition focusing on this national challenge.
Not only can you support these bright and talented children by coming out, you can also enjoy a fun-filled atmosphere of creative competition. The FLL challenge is judged in four areas: project presentation; robot performance; technical design and programming of the robot; and teamwork, with a consideration of the FLL Core Values.
Spectator admission is free and more information can be found at the link below or by calling 270-745-3048.

The Medical Center Health & Wellness Expo
With new year's resolutions on everyone's mind, chances are health and fitness are top priorities in 2012. The Medical Center and WBKO invite everyone to make a healthy start to the New Year by attending the Health & Wellness Expo this Saturday at the Sloan Convention Center. Healthcare service providers, safety agencies and many others will provide free health screenings and information on healthy living including special presentations and demonstrations.
A few of the screenings that will be available include blood sugar, glaucoma, hearing, lung health, skin cancer, and vision. There will also be blood pressure checks, body fat analysis and colorectal cancer screening kits. In addition, door prizes will be awarded and a special performance will be given by BG Rockerz. The event is free and open to the public. Visit the link below or call 270-745-1010 for more information.
