Lincoln: The Constitution and the Civil War
The Civil War was a tragic conflict that tore apart our nation. In guiding the nation through this terrible time in its history, Abraham Lincoln had to make many decisions. But none were as difficult--or as momentous--as the decisions he had to make with regard to the Constitution. The traveling exhibition "Lincoln: The Constitution and the Civil War," on display at the Kentucky Museum through December 6, will take you inside the issues.
Two special lectures in conjunction with the exhibit's topic will also take place this week at the Kentucky Museum. On Monday, Cecile Garmon will present "Lincoln's Leadership and Communication Style" and then on Thursday, Dr. Glenn LaFantasie will discuss "Lincoln and the Emancipation Proclamation." Both programs are at 7 pm.
For more information, visit the link below or call the Museum at 270-745-2592. While there, see the special Holiday Tree Exhibit opening this Wednesday!

Amahl and the Night Visitors & The Gift of the Magi
WKU Theatre & Dance contiunes its Main Stage season with a double-feature this weekend that will start your holiday season off with two heartwarming tales of love and generosity. Gian-Carlo Menotti's short opera, Amahl and the Night Visitors tells the tale of a crippled shepherd boy who meets the Three Wise Men on their way to Bethlehem. Amahl's selfless act of kindness leads to a miracle that will change his life forever. This is the perfect opera for the holiday season about hope, forgiveness, and understanding.
David J. Mauriello's musical adaptation of the classic O. Henry story, Gift of the Magi shares the familiar tale of a young married couple preparing for their first Christmas together. They soon discover that the possessions they own are not the most important things they have in their lives.
Tickets are $13 for adults and $11 for students and are available by calling 270-745-5222. Follow the link below for more information.
