"Blood Relations" & "Tartuffe" offer Theatre Options

With the community buzzing over the announcement of SKyPAC's inaugural season this spring, you'll want to take advantage of some great community theater this weekend as two different shows are being offered.

Fountain Square Players presents "Blood Relations," a re-imagining of events surrounding a notorious murder where Lizzie Borden was accused of murdering her parents with an axe, at the Phoenix Theatre. Show times are Thursday through Saturday at 8 pm and Sunday afternoon at 3 pm. Visit Fountain Square Players' website or call 270-782-3119 for ticket information.

Just down the road at the Capitol Arts Center, the Capitol Arts Youth Theatre will be performing "Tartuffe," Moliere's classic comedy where disaster and hilarity ensue when Orgon, a misguided aristocrat, takes the fake "holy man" Tartuffe into his trust and into his house. Show times are at 8 pm both Friday and Saturday nights with a 3 pm matinee on Sunday as well. Follow the link below or call 270-782-2787 for more information and to order tickets.

    Holiday Happenings are Here!

Holiday Season 2011 has officially begun and this weekend marks the first of many Holiday Happenings around Bowling Green! Kicking things off is the 19th Annual Old Fashioned Christmas Walk at Christ United Methodist Church, 716 Cave Mill Road, from 8 am- 3 pm. This year's Walk will include a display of quilts and vintage items, craft booths, a bake sale, Grandma's Attic, and a silent auction. Breakfast and lunch will be served. For more information, call 270-842-4343. Proceeds will benefit missions of all kinds.

Then head over to St. James Methodist Church at 575 Winfield Drive for its Holiday Bazaar from 8 am- 2 pm. Featuring crafts, homemade baked goods, and more, you can also enjoy breakfast from 8-10 am or lunch from 11 am- 2 pm. Call 270-842-4949 to learn more. For something new this year, check out Briarwood's 1st Ever Craft Show at 265 Lovers Lane from 9 am until 3 pm. For more information, call 270-782-5554.
