WHAT IS A CREED?

 

A formal statement of beliefs or principles. This can be religious, personal or even a business creed (like a mission statement). Not only is it a statement of beliefs it can be something to live by.

 

Do you have your own personal creed?

 

We all have a belief system. For most people though, it operates at a subconscious level and not always part of their daily consciousness. When people are not consciously aware of their belief system they tend to be reactive rather than proactive. Decision making is difficult and they drift through life as a passenger rather than the driver.

 

Becoming consciously aware of your value and belief system can have quite a dramatic impact. I see it all the time. Once a client becomes consciously aware they are empowered to make choices and decisions that create a greater sense of harmony in their lives. We begin to see an almost automatic realignment in their world.

 

Below you'll read James Ray's Creed. It's not a bad one to live by. Or you can write out your own, print it out and hang it up somewhere to remind you daily.

THE CHAMPION'S CREED

I know that I have the ability to achieve my definite purpose in life; therefore, I demand of myself massive, immediate, intelligent, persistent, and consistent action towards its attainment. I here and now promise to render such action.

 

I fully realize that no wealth or position can long endure, unless built upon truth, integrity and incredible value; therefore, I will engage in no transaction that does not benefit all whom it affects.

 

I succeed by attracting to myself the forces that are in harmony with my vision, and the partnership and cooperation of other people. I will induce others to serve me because of my willingness to serve others.

 

I eliminate hatred, envy, jealousy, selfishness, cynicism, anger, and competition by developing true love for all humanity and myself. I know that there is an unlimited supply of goodness in my universe and that a negative attitude towards others can never bring me success. I compel others to believe in me, because I believe in them and in myself.

 

This is my creed and my quest. To never stop climbing to the top, to always keep growing and moving forward, to always scale endless peaks of possibility and to fulfil my destiny. I KNOW that my spirit's sole purpose is for fuller expansion and expression -- that I am dying if not growing. Therefore, I learn, grow, and expand my comfort zone each and every day.

 

I believe in, and commit to progressive advancement, growth and improvement.

I'm a small business operator and run a creative agency called Creatiq.  

 

Although I was happy with how the business was running, there were aspects I knew could be better, such as identifying where I really wanted the business to be long term - down to improving my own time management in order to make that happen. When I looked into options for support I realised I could achieve these things more effectively with a good coach. Meeting Anthony Venn-Brown at a business function enabled me to explore that further.

 

Working with Anthony as my coach and the exercises he took me through, made me realise that I needed to adjust a significant aspect of my previous business plan. Something that hadn't appeared clearly before and it was imperative that I make those adjustments NOW!. I can't even begin describe the value in this, however Anthony's quote adds some context. "It really succk when you can climb the ladder of success only to find it was against the wrong wall".

 

Although I entered the program seeking a business coach, I believe one of the most significant experiences was the exercise of evaluating my personal values. Getting a better understanding of what my core values are, I found, plays a fundamental role in my professional life, as well.  This holistic approach positively impacted areas I was not anticipating

 

The entire experience has brought so much clarity in different aspects, that many get at a later stage in life - sometimes not at all.

 

We all know that the greatest athletes in the world have coaches to help be their best, why can't we?

 

I'm truly grateful to Anthony and I encourage anyone, regardless of where you are in your life professionally or personally to step up and Dare to Be Your Best.
