Number 9 -- Lake Geneva, WI
You may not equate America's Dairyland with luxurious retreats, but one notable spot is Lake Geneva. Not to be confused with the European town of the same name, this lake town of over 14,000 residents was named after Geneva, New York, and the adjacent Seneca Lake. For today's residents and visitors, The Hamptons of the Midwest offers resorts, spas, boating, golf, hiking, hot-air ballooning, parasailing, and more.
World Record Weekend Coming To Lake Geneva
Library Park, Lake Geneva. In honor of Earth Day, the city of Lake Geneva will unite at high noon on Saturday April 19th to win back the coveted Guinness World Record Bunny Hop title. This family friendly event will now be titled, "Some Bunnies Going Green". Seedlings will be handed out to the first 200 families who register. Recycling activities, contests and spring open houses in the downtown shops. Bring your cameras as costumed characters and local celebrities will be on hand. Registration from 10-11:50am downtown and in Library Park. Voluntary donation of $1.00 for adults and 50c for children. Proceeds will go to the One Step at a Time Camp. This camp is an opportunity for childhood cancer victims to enjoy the earth and the outdoors. So, come one, come all to Lake Geneva's 4th annual World Record Weekend. Beware, Washington State Fair and all other spoilers, Lake Geneva will take this title back! For more information on the hop, Call Rag Thyme 262-248-4448.
Don't you think you should take a little time and give yourself the wonderful gift of relaxation?

(See Our Savings Coupon Below)
Lake Geneva is filled with wonderful accommodations. From 5 star resorts, B & B's, and small motels. But, have you ever considered a vacation rental home? Here are the top reasons to consider one of our rental homes in downtown Lake Geneva which now offer boat rentals for staying guests.
1. Savings on meals - A furnished kitchen allows vacationers to prepare many of their own meals. During a week's vacation, dining in, rather than going to restaurants for every meal translates into several hundred dollars in savings on food alone.
2. More room - A vacation rental home has more space than a resort or hotel room. Both our homes offer living rooms, dining rooms, kitchens, front porches and rear decks. When you're on vacation, it's nice to have some space.
3. Beautiful furnishings and fun atmospheres - Our homes are theme decorated properties which reflect our pride of ownership.
4. More privacy - Our homes are more private than a room in a hotel. In a resort hotel, you may have revelers roaming the halls at all hours.
5. Fully equipped - In addition to fully-furnished kitchens with microwaves and full sized-refrigerators, both our homes have private washers and dryers. Guests can wash their golf, tennis, ski, or beachwear each day. Hidden benefit: less luggage to haul on the trip.
6. Mini bar vs. refrigerator - Take a single beer from the hotel mini-bar or take a six-pack from the refrigerator at the house. Guess what? The cost is about the same. Mini-bars provide great profit centers for hotels. Refrigerators, microwaves, VCRs, washers and dryers provide excellent convenience and savings for vacationers.
7. Better rates - Despite these many advantages, our homes cost less per week or per day than a hotel room at a resort.
8. Now offering Private Pontoon Boat Rentals for our guests.
********************************************************************************
If the task of finding a place to hold a small company retreat or year-end strategic planning meeting has landed on your to-do list, show your creative genius by hosting it at the "Nautical Inn" or "Endless Summer Nites". You will have undistracted time for brainstorming at one of our vacation rental homes. We can comfortably accommodate a business group up to 14, or rent both our homes which are within walking distance to each other and can accommodate 26 guests... Opening this spring- A new vacation rental home in downtown Lake Geneva - we will be able to accommodate up to 38 guests.

We love it when local boys make it BIG. Waukesha boys Sam Llanas and Kurt Neumann initiated a partnership more than 20 years ago, as the BoDeans, and became one of the premier American roots-rock bands. They forged a signature sound based on hearfelt lyrics, passionate harmonies, and ringing guitars. With hits like "Closer to Free", "Good Things", "She's a Runaway", and "Fadeaway" you'll find plenty of songs to sing-along with as the night rocks on, in this un-plugged style concert.

In a colorful mix of song and dance from various regions of Africa they sing popular, gospel, and contemporary music while accompanying themselves on traditional instruments. Proceeds from these concerts raise funds to support the Choir's relief and development programs.

These trolleys were not the rubber-tired trolley-busses we see today, but electric trolleys that ran over railroad tracks laid right in the middle of city streets. While these trolleys have nearly disappeared from the American urban scene, the East Troy Electric Railroad Museum preserves this unique part of 19th and 20th Century history for all to learn from, experience and enjoy.
