It's no wonder the Lake Geneva area's first citizens, the Potawatomi Indians, called their region, Kishwauketoe, for 'land of the sparkling water.' Pristine lakes, abundant fishing and a wealth of wildlife offered an unparalleled range of year-round natural resources, yesterday and today. By the beginning of the 20th century, the area's magnificent vistas and easy access via railroad lured Victorian-era millionaires.
The spectacular mansions and cultural sites they built earned Lake Geneva the nickname 'Newport of the West. So much to do, yet so comfortable to do nothing. It's all here in the Lake Geneva area.
Start off your day stepping back into time at Old World Wisconsin -- America's largest rural outdoor living history museum. Next it's off to a cruise on the Geneva Lake Cruise line. See large Victorian mansions, beautiful sail boats and the awe-inspiring view from the water. Next, it's tee-off time at over 25 of the challenging golf courses in the Geneva Lake area. After golf, you've got a hearty appetite and it's time to dine out at some of the best restaurants in the state. Enjoy first rate service while you recap the day's events. It's all here and waiting for you in Lake Geneva!!!
The City of Lake Geneva is the hub of activity in the Geneva Lake area. The city is home to a wide variety of businesses including excellent shopping, fine and casual dining and a large variety of visitor lodging. This community offers year round recreation including boating, water sports and golfing. It hosts several annual festivals and events including the Annual Art in the Park and Lake Geneva Venetian Festival in the summer, the Annual Classic Cart Rally and Oktoberfest in the fall, Winterfest & National Snow Sculpting Competition and Annual Great Electric Christmas Parade in the winter.
As the largest community on the lake, Lake Geneva offers excellent schools and city services. This is the community to be in if you enjoy lots of activity in a resort setting.
Other places to visit include the Lake Geneva Museum (open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays in spring, (262-248-6060) to view artifacts of yachts and nautical vessels, exhibits on historic mansions, Potawatomi Indian artifacts and Frank Lloyd Wright's "Geneva Hotel," among other items.
Don't you think you should take a little time and give yourself the wonderful gift of relaxation?

Lake Geneva is filled with wonderful accommodations. From 5 star resorts, B & B's, and small motels. But, have you ever considered a vacation rental home? Here are the top reasons to consider one of our rental homes in downtown Lake Geneva which now offer boat rentals for staying guests.
1. Savings on meals - A furnished kitchen allows vacationers to prepare many of their own meals. During a week's vacation, dining in, rather than going to restaurants for every meal translates into several hundred dollars in savings on food alone.
2. More room - A vacation rental home has more space than a resort or hotel room. Both our homes offer living rooms, dining rooms, kitchens, front porches and rear decks. When you're on vacation, it's nice to have some space.
3. Beautiful furnishings and fun atmospheres - Our homes are theme decorated properties which reflect our pride of ownership.
4. More privacy - Our homes are more private than a room in a hotel. In a resort hotel, you may have revelers roaming the halls at all hours.
5. Fully equipped - In addition to fully-furnished kitchens with microwaves and full sized-refrigerators, both our homes have private washers and dryers. Guests can wash their golf, tennis, ski, or beachwear each day. Hidden benefit: less luggage to haul on the trip.
6. Mini bar vs. refrigerator - Take a single beer from the hotel mini-bar or take a six-pack from the refrigerator at the house. Guess what? The cost is about the same. Mini-bars provide great profit centers for hotels. Refrigerators, microwaves, VCRs, washers and dryers provide excellent convenience and savings for vacationers.
7. Better rates - Despite these many advantages, our homes cost less per week or per day than a hotel room at a resort.
8. Now offering Private Pontoon Boat Rentals for our guests.

If the task of finding a place to hold a small company retreat or year-end strategic planning meeting has landed on your to-do list, show your creative genius by hosting it at the "Nautical Inn" or "Endless Summer Nites". You will have undistracted time for brainstorming at one of our vacation rental homes. We can comfortably accommodate a business group up to 14, or rent both our homes which are within walking distance to each other and can accommodate 26 guests... Opening this spring- A new vacation rental home in downtown Lake Geneva - we will be able to accommodate up to 38 guests.

Pow Wow is a continuation of the intertribal gatherings that have been held in this country for many thousands of years. What has become the modern Pow Wow, however, has evolved since the 1960's. The main features of these celebrations are the drums, traditional music, and dancing, as well as the colorful regalia of the dancers and all the crafts and foods available for sale. Many of the different American Indian cultures are represented, and the heritage of the dancers and singers are reflected in their clothing, their dance steps, and their songs.
