Basic Stitch Class. Saturday, June 2,
11-1 p.m. Fee: $20. Learn how to cable, create simple eyelet stitches, make a bobble, and to knit different types of ribbing. With this know how, you won't be shying away from patterns because you're afraid you can't do a particular stitch. Must know how to knit and purl with ease. |
1-3 p.m. Fee: $20. We're offering this class again because of it's import! Did you ever see an awesome pattern done in a particular yarn, but when you crunched the numbers, the sweater would cost you $200? Or have you ever fallen in love with a pattern and by the time you're ready to knit it, the yarn's been discontinued? Don't give up! Learn how to make substitutions that will work. We'll discuss gauge, fibers, and textures and show you what on-line resources to use to choose the best alternative. |

We'll show you how to measure, account for ease, lengthen or shorten the body or sleeves, and how to upsize or downsize. Bring a sweater to class that fits you well along with a tape measure, pencil and paper, and a calculator. |

Workshop. Thursday, June 7, 6:30-8:30 p.m. Fee: $20. Works in progress (WIP). We all have them tucked away somewhere! We all promise we're not going to buy any more yarn until we finish them. But we don't feel like it, right?
Well, we've got a few techniques to use to get a grip on WIPs and we're happy to share them with you. Bring 3 or 4 WIPs to class with you along with the pertinent patterns (must have pattern because this isn't a design class!). We'll prioritize projects, breath life into old ones so you actually feel like finishing them, advise you on getting over the snag you hit and get you going again! |
