                   What's a FREE Knit Along (KAL) you may rightly ask?

                     It's where knitters sit in comfy chairs at the Grove and

                   knit the same pattern!  Not only is it a blast, it increases our

                       chances  of finishing the project!  See guidelines below.*
Sat., March 10, 11-1 p.m.
FREE.*  Make someone happy...give them an owl puff knit in one of Blue Sky's fun Worsted Cotton colors and watch them smile every time they look at it!  For knitters who know the basics.  

Grecian Rib Scarf KAL, Sunday, March 11, 2-5 p.m.  FREE!*

Purl Bee has come up with another fabulous pattern! We'll  lighten things up by knitting this in Covington, a mercerized cotton with a beautiful sheen and weight. 

Sonoma Valley Scarf KAL

Sunday, March 18, 2-5 p.m.  FREE.*

This delightful, airy scarf is a simple lace knit and can be done in almost any fiber and it's perfect for Spring.

Pretty Corsage KAL!  Saturday, March 24, 1-4 p.m.  FREE.*  You can tell by now that we're pretty high on Wooly Worsted and Ewe Ewe's patterns.  This corsage is aptly named "pretty" and can embellish anything you desire! 
Cotton Lace Ponchette KAL!  Saturday, March 31, 1-4 p.m.  FREE.*  Yes, poncho's are definitely back in and we think this one is elegant with it's simple lace edging.

-KAL's are free cuz there's no instruction provided so please make sure you have the skill level necessary to complete the project.

-Download, print pattern and bring to class. 

-Only yarn purchased at the Grove is allowed.

We'll knit this simple slip stitch cap made in Spud & Chloe's Sweater (a beautiful organic cotton and wool blend).  For those who know how to knit and purl in the round.

Sunday, March 25, 2-5 p.m. FREE.*  Not to neglect our crocheters, we have chosen this beautiful brooch which can be done by any one who knows how to single crochet!  If you want to learn how to crochet, look below for the beginning class that takes place the morning before the CAL.

BASIC SKILLS CLASSES:
Beginning Knit:  Thursday, March 15th, 6:30-8:30 p.m., Saturday, March 17, 11-1 p.m. or Wednesday, March 28, 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.  Instruction Fee:  $20.  Learn the knit stitch by making a scarf.  Needles and yarns offered at 10% off for in-class use.  Only yarns purchased at the Grove are allowed.  Prepayment required.

 

Beginning Crochet:  Sunday, March 25. 11-1 p.m. Instruction Fee:  $20.  Learn the basics.  Hooks & yarns offered at 10% off for in-class use.  Only yarns purchased at the Grove are allowed. Prepayment required. 

 
Beginner's Knit Beanie:  Sundays, March 18 & Saturday, March 31, 11 - 1 p.m.  Instruction Fee:  $40.  Learn about fit and gauge, learn to purl, decrease and seam with this simple beanie pattern.  Shop pattern provided.  Only yarns purchased at the Grove are allowed.  Prepayment required.

 

Private Lessons:  Private knitting, crochet, and sewing lessons (with judipatuti fabrics only) are always available at the Grove for $25 per hour.  Just call 619-284-7684 to arrange a convenient time.

Susan's Work Days:  If you need expert knitting advise or help selecting yarns, I would love to be of assistance.  I plan on being in the shop at least these days:  March 8-14, and March 22-28 (Mondays excluded).   I am available to assist you with yarn and patterns purchases on my day off at no charge.  Just call the shop at 619-284-7684 to schedule an appointment.  SHOP HOURS:  Open Tuesday thru Saturday 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., noon to 5:00 p.m. on Sundays, closed Mondays.
