Connector Groups: Common Questions
In our last message we included more information about our Connector Groups and we received a ton of feedback, plenty of applications and several questions seemed to keep popping up. Here are answers to the questions we heard over and over again.
  1. When and where will the groups be meeting? The groups are still forming, so we can't tell you when or where your group will be meeting. We can tell you that our goal is to match each participant with a group that meets at a time that will work with their schedule. Once you apply, Tom will reach out to you to learn more about what you do and gather the required information to match you with the appropriate group.
  2. When will the meetings begin? The meetings will begin once we have enough people in a particular group. Your one year "membership" does not being until your group actually starts meeting.
  3. Can I sign up now, but pay later? No. If you want to secure a spot in a group you have to complete the online application and submit your payment. We can't hold a spot in a group until you have completed both of these steps.
  4. Are Connector Groups like BNI groups? No. Connector Groups are not like BNI groups. BNI is a great, proven, popular model and we don't dismiss the value of participating in a BNI group. Here are some key differences:
    • Connector Groups are made up of people who are selling to the same types of buyers. Instead of focusing on creating large groups, we are focusing on putting together a group of 12-15 people who have similar client profiles. Quality vs. Quantity. We believe that people in the marketing space are more likely to get referrals from other people in the marketing space.
    • Connector Groups are facilitated by a professional. Instead of relying on a peer-managed structure, Connector Groups are managed by an experienced facilitator. You don't have to worry about keeping minutes, scheduling meeting times, planning the agenda, etc. The facilitator takes care of all of this for your group.
    • Connector Group meetings are different each time. There are some topics that will be discussed in every meeting, but we have plenty of time in the agenda for conversation and interaction. You should expect a discussion about opportunities, market intelligence, referral opportunities, strategic partnership opportunities, joint venture opportunities and more.
  5. How much does it cost? Connector Group membership is $597.00 per year. In some cases, we may have to charge a room fee to cover the expenses for the meeting space. The membership fee includes free admission to all of our "Business After Hours" events, admission to 2 private Connector Group events and special advertising discounts.
If you still have questions, please refer to http://www.connectorgroups.com or you can contact Tom via email or by telephone at (617) 398-0683.
