Countdown to Shearing day!
Eddie Dunham, our favorite Australian shearer will return to Blue Moon Ranch on June 6th to shear all the alpacas. If you would like to see Eddie shear, tune in to the alpaca cam and watch the fleece come off. We get started before 9 am, and work until all the fleece is in bags! We have a fabulous crew of helpers as well and you will be amazed at how efficiently the day will go. We have also decided that this year we will not allow rain!
Some fleeces will be available for sale on our Etsy store within a week after shearing. Other fleeces wil be spun into yarn for our open house in September. (thanks to Spinderellas) A few of the fleeces wil be going to shows. |

Our First cria has arrived!
We proudly introduce the first cria of 2009 - ...."Archangel's Angelica". Yes, I did say this time I'd like a boy but let me tell you I am not disappointed in this little girl at all! Truffle is being a great first time mom and Angelica's dad CCNF Archangel sure gave her a great start. She posed here with her mom at 2 days old - now does she look feminine or what? All she needs now is a playmate and that should be happening any day. All births are announced on the BMR web site the day after they arrive.

Featured Alpaca - BMR Sergio!
I do believe this little guy has it all - awesome fiber, delightful temperament and flawless conformation. His dam is our grey matriarch Lola, and his sire is our top male Sierra Bonita's Teewinot, so the color possibilities from him are endless. You will not find him on the male sales list on our web site because he will only be offered here for the month of June. He is the one boy I picked for the 2008 boys (and there were plenty!) to stay at BMR for a future herdsire prospect. But hey, I need to offer some really good ones for sale and he is it for the month of June. Fiber samples available to interested parties. $7,000 limited time only ARI # 3152717 Born 4/19/08
