Did you  know...

new cria 2009 Crias are Coming!

Probably the most exciting time of all on any alpaca farm is when a new cria arrives, and we are no exception  here!   We are anticipating the arrival of 19 new crias this year and we should be seeing the first one very soon.  Truffle, our new girl from Vermont is due with an Archangel cria between May 5 and 15, but we know better than to expect any alpaca to deliver on their due date!  It will be a busy summer for us - click here to see when the rest of the crias are due to arrive.  Would you like to own one of these moms?   Talk to us!

hand dyed hand spun yarn New Store for Blue Moon Ranch

We have just opened a store on "Etsy", a fun place to shop for all things handmade. The photo to the right is some hand dyed, hand spun yarn made right here at the ranch, now available at our etsy shop.   Setting up a functional store on the BMR web site proved to be more challenging than I had anticipated!  So for now please visit us on "Etsy" at bluemoonranch.etsy.com   After shearing day, I'll have some of the fleeces available and eventually all our soaps and yarn will be there as well.
Have you found a Mother's Day gift for Mom yet?  Great!  But if not, look at the alpaca loofah soaps we just listed!  Click here to get to the bluemoonranch store on Etsy. Bookmark the page and please come back often.  thanks!

Alpaca Cam Updates

alpaca cam viewWe prefer not to confine our very pregnant moms because we feel they deliver more naturally when left to choose their own birthing place.  Of course we are always here and watching, but often the birth will not be seen on camera. (Although it has happened on the cam view more than once!)  As soon as we have a new cria, we do our best to get them in view of one of the cams.  Stay  tuned - May and June should be busy birthing months. You will always be able to see the birth announcement on the "what's new"  page the day after the birth if you miss it.   Click here to watch the alpaca cam now.
I also have just signed up for Twitter and will send out a tweet as soon as we are having a baby. Follow us here.  If you are not into the Twitter phenomenon, just ignore these silly words!
New consignments coming!
We are currently helping several customers in efforts to sell their alpacas. Some need to sell for personal health reasons, moving or excessive medical bills.  We are gathering information at this time and hope to have all details before the end of the month.  Bred females, maidens and males will be offered with full support from Blue Moon Ranch. Please send us an email if you'd like to know when these alpacas are offered for sale.
