TIP - How to Overcome Couponumbness!

The dreaded syndrome that causes you to lose money.

 coupons

Once you allow multiple coupon sources into your life, you may find yourself overwhelmed quickly by all the information and could suffer from what I call couponumbness.  This occurs when you just don't care anymore because you are literally overexposed to savings!  So below are a few things you can do to stay engaged with the savings that really matters to you and continue to reap the rewards:

Sign up Selectively.

Much of the information circulating on the Internet like store deals, printable coupons and daily deals is coming from common sources, so if you are required to join a mailing list, do it selectively or you might end up getting alerts for the same stuff over and over.  Be proactive in managing your intake of information the same way you manage the intake of things into your home and purge when you no longer see the value.  You may always sign-up again at another time.

Organize your InBox.

With merchants, retailers and websites reaching out daily through e-mail, create folders in your Inbox to save messages that peak your interest or you have an active deal pending.  I learned this the hard way, after forgetting what deal was on what website and losing my login info.  So, I created a folder for each company or website I chose to follow and store the communications in one place.  If a deal is pre-paid (like through Groupon or Living Social), then once I print the voucher, I stored them in my trusty Couponizer.

Focus!

The truth is not every deal, coupon or discount will fit your needs.  It may fit your wants, but it may not fit your needs at the time.  So learn to allow deals, discounts and coupons to pass you by since the likelihood it will surface again is greater than never seeing it again.  Coupons at their core are about businesses driving sales, so hang around a business or brand long enough and you will see coupon trends which is a good thing!

In the end, as consumers today, the best any of us can do with all the great offers available is to make good decisions by including the offers that are meaningful (however big or small), manage them to redemption, reap the savings and then move on to the next one!  Your ability to prevent overexposure (couponumbness) and achieve consistent savings success are greatly improved when you do this and have a system to support the process.

TOOL - Cellfire.comCellfire
Uploading coupons eliminates the most of the paper trail.

Cellfire.com offers digital coupons that can be uploaded to a customer loyalty card.  By doing this, all you need to keep track of is what coupons are on your loyalty card.  I print the list from the store website and carry this in my Couponizer with the other paper coupons so I am combining the best of both worlds.  However, you may choose to go completely paperless by downloading the Cellfire app, this way you can view the offers on your cellphone while shopping and upload or "save" the coupons to your loyalty card as you shop.  There is even a feature that allows you to scan the product UPC to ensure the coupon will work.

Today, the options to access coupons and savings are plentiful and available on many different platforms.  My hope is you find what you need, when you need it and save time and lots of money!

Couponizer of the Month
Donna Burgoon -  Virginia Beach, VAdonna

I am sending pictures of my shopping trip to Rite Aid today.. My receipt was TALLER than me, and I am 5'7"!!!  My total today was $100 and change.  I paid $37.32 and received $38.00 in +UP Rewards!!  I saved $63.00 with coupons and If it were not for the Couponizer and your wonderful website, I would never have been able to save this much.  The organizing that The Couponizer allows me to do saves me considerable time and makes it SO easy to find the right coupon fast!  I constantly have people approach me at the store and compliment me on my organizer.. I have little pieces of paper in one of my unused folder pockets that have

www.thecouponizer.com on them so that when I am asked I have an easy way to give out the website :)  Again, thank you SO much for such a wonderful product!

RECIPE from Amy  quiche

Bacon & Cheddar Quiche
The easiest breakfast or brunch dish ever!

Ingredients:

·   1 lb bacon

·   1 cup chopped sweet onion

·   10 eggs beaten

·   1  cup milk

·   2 tsp Italian seasonings

·   2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded

·   1 pre-made refrigerated pie crust

·   Cooking spray

Directions:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Slice bacon into 1/4" pieces and fry into bits, drain.  In bacon fat, heat the chopped onion until soft.  Set aside.  Beat eggs and add milk and seasonings.  (
Bacon adds salt flavor, but add pepper to taste if desired) Spray pie pan with cooking spray, then place pie crust (Pillsbury refrigerated works well) in glass pie pan, crimp the edges to the pie plate.  Add bacon and shredded cheese to the bottom of pie crust.  Pour eggs mixture into pie pan over bacon and cheese.

Place foil around the edges of the pie crust to avoid burning.  Bake 30 minutes or more until egg mixture is puffed up and crust is golden brown.  Remove foil for last 5 minutes of baking.  Serve slices with a side of fresh fruit.

Coupon Alert!  Use coupons for eggs, bacon, seasoning, pie crust.
