Last month we successfully launched our new online store and I hope you have a chance to stop by and see it. For our growing business the new e-commerce solution makes the online shopping experience faster, easier and offers volume pricing for large orders. It is exciting as a small business owner to implement changes as a result of growth so that we can ultimately improve our service to our customers. We issued a press release recently announcing our good news, take a look here!
Have you noticed how grocery stores stock temporary shelves right as you walk in the store with nothing but seasonal ingredients? This can be a time saver but it can also be a pesky distraction since it may cause you to think of adding a dish to the menu you hadn't planned for! Remember coupons for many of these grocery items are available and The easiest way to access savings is to go to our COUPONS page and click and print all the savings you want!
THANKSGIVING SAVINGS! Baking and cooking are going to ramp up in most households over the next few weeks, so stock up on this ingredient that makes everything taste so good! Look for a tore sale on this item and the price will drop even more!

TIP
What is a Loss Leader Strategy?
Understanding this time honored pricing strategy can help you stay focused!
The holidays are obviously for many businesses including my own a time of increased sales and there are many pricing strategies that retailers will implement to attract more customers. One of the most common is called a loss leader. These are goods or services that are offered at steep discounts that are generally below cost, hence the name loss leader. The main purpose is to draw consumers into the store to buy this item since the price so irresistible. This is a very successful strategy and plays right into the hands of deal spotters and discount queens, but the intent of this price strategy is to hopefully have customers not only buy the loss leader sale items, but stick around and buy other products that are not discounted. Now for the seasoned deal shopper, this is an invitation to "make hay while the sun shines" meaning get in, get the deals and get out, but for the average shopper it works or they wouldn't keep doing it!
Overspending is just that easy, it is the lure of the deal and then before you know it, you've spend more money than intended. These pathways to lower prices have a way of overriding common sense and can create tremendous budgetary distractions if you let them. So, as smart consumers, our challenge is to remain focused on the overall goal of spending money wisely and within your means. Remember, loss leaders, deals, discounts and coupons do present lower prices which is good and the best way to stay focused is to create lists before you shop and stick to them even if it hurts to walk away from deals. |

Check out her Menu Planner section and also the worksheets she shares to help anyone get organized for weekly meals. Having a meal plan saves lots of time and money over the week. This simple tool will reveal the items needed for the week and hopefully if you plan well you will use items you already have first and then stock up on only the things needed.

Couponizer of the Month Elizabeth Power
Sebasitain, FL
I was visiting my neighbor and she had just gotten The Couponizer. It was love at first sight for a "coupon queen" like myself!! I immediately came home and ordered one for myself. I love, love, love it...Is by far superior to any coupon organizer I have ever owned. I did have a problem with the spiral ring; it was coming apart. I called the company and imagine my surprise when Amy herself answered the phone! I was so totally impressed...She offered me a full refund or a replacement. Of course I wanted the replacement which she shipped out to me without question. I am off and running (I mean saving...) Thank you again!!

Couponizer Cook
Creamy Carrot Soup
This is a keeper! We had lots of carrots from our garden so I needed a recipe that used them! This soup is so creamy and good, I will be making it again very soon, a perfect addtion to Thanksgiving favorites!
Ingredients 1 cup chopped onion 1/4 cup butter, cubed 4 1/2 cups sliced carrots 1 large potato, peeled and cubed 2 (14.5 ounce) cans chicken broth 1 teaspoon ground ginger 2 cups heavy whipping cream 1 teaspoon dried rosemary, crushed 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/8 teaspoon pepper
Directions: In a Dutch oven, saute onion in butter until tender. Add carrots, potato, broth and ginger. Cover and cook over medium heat for 30 minutes or until vegetables are tender. Cool for 15 minutes.
Transfer to a blender or food processor in small batches; cover and process until smooth. Return all to the pan; stir in the cream, rosemary, salt and pepper. Cook over low heat until heated through. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 to 35 minutes, or until pastry is golden brown and filling is bubbly. Cool for 10 minutes before serving. My Modifications:
Added only 1 cup of whipping cream and a TB of brown sugar, used fresh ginger (about 1TB), omitted the rosemary, added chopped fresh basil and garnished with chopped parlsey.
Coupons to use: cream, broth, seasonings
