Greetings!
June Greetings!
When was the last time you told someone about a great deal you received? Was it something small like a free bottle of mustard or something big like 50% off a new TV? My point is getting a good deal most always produces a smile stemming from feelings of satisfaction and accomplishment.
In these economic times, a common goal for most consumers is to spend less and for some this seems like drudgery when actually the opposite is true. Most of my friends know about my business so whether I am at a party or at the pool many will share with me their savings stories. Whether big or small, finding a great deal that fits your need produces positive results - smiles, hugs, laughter, "OMG, I am so excited" and a desire to do it again!

TIP
Choose a Shopping Cart that Fits your Plan!
Have you noticed
these days most grocery stores there are different sizes of shopping
carts? Below I have identified 4 different kinds and the best use for each:
Standard Cart
- this is the shopping cart I grew up with (pictured right). The kind
with the fold down plastic thingy that creates a place to seat a child
or purse upfront that collapses if needed. It is about 18" deep and 15
1/4" wide, and 33" long has room below for items that don't fit in the
cart like big bundles of paper towels or 12 packs of soda. There is
usually a special compartment right below the child's seat for a few
containers to ride for easier access when getting to checkout. These
carts are relatively light and easy to maneuver. This is a good choice for a
weekly run trip to the grocery store.
Jumbo Cart -
this is the same as what I call the Standard Cart but with one distinct
difference. The depth and width of the cart are larger and therefore
shrinking the space for large items underneath and weighing in at over
60 lbs! If you are not paying attention, you may wind up with on of
these and not realize it. So, be careful, you may actually end up buying more
stuff. My theory is we are conditioned to stop shopping based in part
on when the cart is full. I know I have done this. These carts are heavy and when full harder to maneuver. If you
are planning to stock up, or shop in high volume regularly, this is a
good cart to use.
Moms Cart -
this is the cart designed to keep the kids entertained. When you have
to shop with small children, this cart is equipped with a steering
wheel and a special place to sit in the front or back of the cart. The novelty usually wears off in about 5 minutes and then you find
yourself dealing with the behemoth cart that only turns if you lift up
the back wheels. There is a season for this cart and when you have time to slow down and enjoy the workout/ride, this is the right choice.
Double Decker Mini Cart -
this cart is new on the scene here in Atlanta. It is a two tiered cart
with no child's seat. The length and depth of the 2 baskets are about
half of a standard cart. They are really easy to
maneuver so you are able to get in and get out of the store with
minimal effort. This cart is a great choice for when
you have to make a special run to the store for a few things or do not
shop in volume.

Couponizer Cook
Buffalo Chicken Dip
I made this scrumptious
dip and took it to a neighborhood block party and my neighbor showed up
with the same thing! Her husband commented "You can never have enough
Buffalo Chicken Dip!""
INGREDIENTS:
2 (10 ounce) cans chunk chicken, drained
2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
1 cup Ranch dressing
3/4 cup pepper sauce (such as Frank's Red HotŪ)
1 1/2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese (in addition, I added 1/2 c. blue cheese crumbles)
1 bunch celery, cleaned and cut into 4 inch pieces
1 (8 ounce) box chicken-flavored crackers (I served
Tostito Scoops instead since I had a coupon!)
DIRECTIONS:
Heat chicken and hot sauce in a skillet over medium heat, until heated
through. Stir in cream cheese and ranch dressing. Cook, stirring until
well blended and warm. Mix in half of the shredded cheese, and transfer
the mixture to a slow cooker. Sprinkle the remaining cheese over the
top, cover, and cook on low setting until hot and bubbly. Serve with
celery sticks and crackers.
ALTERNATE DIRECTIONS: (the way I did it) Mix
chicken, hot sauce, cream cheese (room temp), Ranch dressing and
cheeses in mixing bowl. Bake for 20-25 minutes at 350 degrees or until
hot and bubbly. Serve with celery sticks and Tostitos Scoops.
Coupons to use: Chicken, cream cheese, Ranch dressing, pepper sauce, cheese, crackers and/or chips
