Greetings!

amy soft edgeMarch Greetings!

Spring is nearly here which also means Spring cleaning for many families.  This annual ritual of seasonal household reorganization can (if you let it) overwhelm your schedule, be expensive and become complicated.  To overcome this, I have a few tips on how to save time, money and simplify this process.  It can be fun, exhilarating and low cost!

A MILESTONE for our business!
The Couponizer hit the market in September 2002 at the Atlanta Home Show.  I remember what it felt like when we made our first sale to someone who was not a friend or family member!  I talked way too much and the customer had to tell me "Get on with the transaction, you have already made the sale!"  This was a very valuable business lesson I have carried with me.

Now, 7 years later, we are excited to unveil the NEW 2nd Edition COUPONIZER system.  Truly a milestone for our growing business and I am very proud to offer this version to our customers, old and new!
Below is a sneak peek.

new coup
The system is functionally the same as the original with a few new and/or improved features:

 - Directions for printing $100's of coupons

Also, included in the system is a shopping list, CoupStacker, CoupTracker, carrying bag and the blue handled scissors.
The price is still $19.95!  Pre-order your today!  Orders will ship on March 30th.

TIP
Spring Cleaning Savings!
A few tips for making this season task pay off!

Spring cleaning is nothing more than optional seasonal household reorganization and maintenance.  You don't HAVE to do it.  However with a family you quickly realize that if you don't, it's trouble.  The cost of bypassing this task is that your home quickly becomes an overstuffed storage unit with layers of mung.  I have to admit, I do not naturally enjoy this task, however the I do enjoy the results!  Below are a few tips that will help you focus on the results:

All Hands!
I encourage you to get the whole family involved to reduce stress and teach valuable life lessons.  In my opinion, far too many kids these days have everything done for them and never learn their responsibilities taking care of the things.  For example, in our family, with supervision, they go through all their clothes this time of year and sort out the seasonal clothes to keep, donate or turn into rags.  I then line up a charity pick-up and claim a tax deduction for the donation.  Also, my kids love to wash and vacuum the mini-van.  Besides, I like having them deal with the assorted items and trash they leave behind in their seats.

Shop the Right Store at the Right Times!
This is essential when you are buying new clothes and summer shoes or refreshing home items like rugs, dishes, sheets and towels.  Stores like TJ Maxx and Marshalls alert customers to store sales and special deals.  When you know before you go, this puts you in control of your spending and prevents overspending on things you do not need.  Also, you don't end up spending too much money on something that your kid's will quickly outgrow or destroy!

Keep it Simple.
The whole house and all your clothing and decor do not have to be overhauled all at once.  Pick a few critical areas that need attention - meaning if you did not attend to them it would make life harder.  For me, this area is clothing.  If I do not purge clothes that are out of season, too small or worn out, dressers quickly become unmanageable and we have melt downs over what to wear!

By reducing stress, targeting your spending and choosing to simplify, spring cleaning is something can actually look forward to!

COUPONIZER of the month
Karen Perry
Upton, MA

Hi Amy,

I just wanted to share my quick little story about how the Couponizer helped me.  As everyone is feeling the financial crunch these days it makes it harder to donate to my favorite "organization-in-need", our local food pantry.  I got the Couponizer recently and have been so much more organized that I have been able to continue donating.  I recently used a circular coupon for cereal ($4 off 4), along with mfr. coupons (printed from the Internet that were doubled), when the cereal was on sale (2 for $4), and got large boxes for $.50 and even some for free!  I was able to do this with a few other staple items and drop off contributions in the Pantry's bin right on my way out of the store!  Being a little more organized made the difference!
Thanks for a great tool!

Karen - Thank you for writing to me.  Yes, I agree being even a little more organized makes a big difference!  Keep up the great work you are doing to serve others in a time of need.
