The Dotted Line
The Smartest Ways to Save!
|
August 2006

|
It's back to school time here in Georgia. My kids
start school next week! If you have school age kids,
then as you prepare for the onslaught of needs that
will require shopping and spending, try prioritizing and
staggering the spending to prevent over doing it.
Also, reuse items like backpacks and lunchboxes
instead of buying new ones every year. This way
when your kids really need a new one, it will be a
special purchase instead an entitlement.
When I was growing up and I would ask to get
something new, if I heard my Mom say "You have a
PERFECTLY good one" in response, I didn't like it, but
I got over it and knew she was right.
Coming out this month, is a book called "Cool Mom
Inventions" by Victoria Pericon. I am honored to be
included among the 56 Mom Inventors who are
featured in this business resource. For more
information, click here.
Please keep sending me
your e-mails, I really value
your thoughts and ideas about my product and
newsletter.
Wishing you all the best savings,

TIP - Find the Coupon Displays in your Grocery Store
Hit the coupon display before you begin shopping for extra savings!
Many shoppers are familiar with the "blinky
machines" that dispense coupons in the grocery
store aisles. Often the coupons in these machines
are more trouble then they are worth since they
most always try to force you to buy more than you
intended. So, this begs the
question, is that really
savings? However, most shoppers overlook plenty of
other great coupons that are available in the store
aisles. Lately, I have noticed temporary cardboard
displays offering coupons for a variety of quality
products. Since these displays blend in so well with
the
surroundings, you may miss them or think they are
another worthless impulse purchase item and
therefore miss the savings.
Just today, popsicles were on my shopping list.
While in the freezer section, I found a display of
manufacturers cents off coupons. One coupon was
for $1 off Minute Maid frozen juice bars which
qualifies as a popsicle in my book. Also, the store
had this product on sale for 2 boxes for $4, so today
I took home 2 boxes of popsicles for $2 and I went
on to find an additional $4 in savings from coupons I
found in the store.
Of
course,
this does not happen all the time but it gives you an
example of how you can leverage savings that are
offered right in the store. You just have to find the
coupon
displays and see if there are any matches on your list.
If you want to go right to the coupon displays in the
store, ask the store manager before you begin
shopping, they will know where they are!

TOOL - Cellfire
Store valuable coupons on your cell phone.
Coupons have made it to your cell phone! Cellfire is
software for your cell phone. Install it and you'll have
access to coupons for a growing number of great
restaurants, stores, entertainment venues and more.
How does it work? Once the coupon is loaded on
your cell phone, you simply pull it up at the store or
restaurant, press the "Use Now" button and a coupon
code will appear. Give this code to the cashier and
you have redeemed your coupon for savings.
How much does it cost? While there is no monthly
fee or usage fee for the coupons, you do pay 1 cent
per kilobyte to download Cellfire and 1 cent per
kilobyte to download new coupons. The good news
is Cellfire is only about 57 kilobytes (57 cents) and
each coupon is about 1 kilobyte (1 cent).

The COUPONIZER of the Month
Lisa Negola, Roswell, GA
I used to clip coupons and stuff them into an
envelope. Eventually, the envelope would be
overstuffed with unused and expired coupons
because I would never search through the
unorganized stack to use them.
Now, I use the Couponizer. It is a unique system
that assists me in organizing all my coupons in
seconds. I am amazed with the results! It is so
convenient that I can carry it anywhere. I?m actually
using the coupons that I save now! Thanks for such
a terrific product!
*See Lisa in the August 2006 issue of Woman's Day
magazine. Her profile is featured on page 22. I bet
you'll never guess what Lisa does for a living? Check
