The Smartest Ways to Save!
|
September 2005

Greetings!
Thank you for your interest my newsletter.
I am realizing there are lots of smart, savvy Moms
and (men too) out there who apply business skills to
home areas. In doing so, this has created a whole
generation of shoppers who are informed,
empowered and know the value of a dollar.
This newsletter is for you since we started
it as a way of sharing what I consider to be
great time and money saving tips and tools.
Beginning with 20 subscribers of mostly
interested family and friends, it has grown in one
year to reach thousands of subscribers nationwide. I
am continually amazed at the power of the Internet
when it comes to spreading the word about useful
resources.
Also, I hope you like the new format of the
newsletter. In the spirit of continuous improvement,
please send me any ideas, comments or suggestions
so this newsletter is of maximum benefit to you.
All the best savings,

Amy Bergin - Wife, Mother and President, The Couponizer Company

Tip - Plan the Family Menu Using Coupons
September - National Coupon Month
Menu planning is a central part of making coupons
work for you. If you view a coupon as a "sneak
peek" into what you may buy, then you are able to
build your menus and grocery list around these
items. If you know you will use the items bought at
great prices, then the coupon is worth the effort.
National Coupon Month is a program of the Promotion
Marketing Association (PMA) Educational Foundation,
Inc., which is an educational public foundation. The
Coupon Council, a coupon advocacy group within the
PMA seeks to support the benefits coupons offer
consumers. Included on their website are
lesson plans designed to get kids of all ages involved
in shopping for deals using coupons.

Tool - Saving for College
Baby Mint
Saving money towards your child's education is a
common financial goal for families. However this can
be one of the most challenging to achieve since it
requires monthly fiscal discipline and a commitment
to a long term goal. Baby Mint is a tool designed to
help families and individuals achieve this goal.
The way it works is by signing up free of charge on
their website. Then, once you?re signed up, you can
begin saving for your child's education. Every time
you shop within the BabyMint network of retailers
and service providers or use the BabyMint College
Savings Credit Card , you will earn cash rebates on
every purchase.
While you may have seen these types of programs
before, what impressed me about this one is that it
looks like you could actually accumulate some
savings! I have signed up and with the holidays
coming, I may elect to do some online shopping here
and see how much accumulates in the account. I'll
report back in a few months.

Couponizer of the Month
Nikole MacDonald - Norwalk, CT
I just wanted to let you know that I got my
Couponizer and I couldn?t be happier! Long gone are
the days that my coupons are disorganized and
inaccessible when I really need them. I love
the ?checkout coupon? folder which helps a ton when
trying to juggle to kids and save money. I also love
that you have included services beyond the grocery
store. This week alone I was able to use a haircut,
fast food and car wash coupon - before the
Couponizer they were saved with good intentions but
I never had them with me when I needed them. I
have already referred one person and I know there
will be many more.
Thanks again so much for an AWESOME , much need
product!
*Correction* - Last Month's Couponizer of the
Month - Shannon Daniel is from Olive Branch, MS.
