The Smartest Ways to Save!
In case you
were wondering,
Valentine's
Day is big business. Consumers will spend an average of $77.43
on Valentine's Day gifts this year. E-commerce retailers expect
to rack up about $650 million in sales of food, candy, flowers,
and other Valentine's Day gifts. Of that amount about $350
million will be for gifts and flowers and another $45 million
will be spent on food (including chocolate) and wine.
One way to
acknowledge this day without breaking the bank is to simply
scale back.
Did you know
that
one single perfect red rose framed
with baby's breath is referred to by
some florists as a "signature
rose," and is the preferred choice for many for giving on
Valentine's Day, anniversary, or birthday?

TIP - Extra Savings for Families of Multiples |
Atlanta Triplets and More is a
group of 100+ moms in the Atlanta area. They are a support
network of families who have or are expecting triplets or
more. Their purpose is to provide support and advice to
each other and to develop new friendships as well as provide
network opportunities within the Metro Atlanta area.
Saving money is a top
priority for these families since they are hit with triple or
more the expenses associated with a newborn. If you are
a mother of multiples or know someone who is or is going to
be; the Atlanta Triplets & More website has compiled a list of
companies that will extend families with multiples special
discounts and coupons.
Click
here to review this list.
I have the pleasure of being the guest speaker at the Atlanta
Triplets & More group this month and hope to share
more ways to maximize savings through using coupons.

Think for a minute about your
earliest lessons having to do with money. How old were
you? For me, at age 10, I remember over the 4th of July
holiday asking my Dad for money to spend at the fair
that invaded the main street of my hometown - Granville, OH.
My Dad would always give us $5 and when it was all gone, that
was it. The fair lasted 3 days and it was an agonizing
exercise in discipline for a 10 year old to make the $5 last for
3 days. There were so many choices to pick from, ride
tickets, games, fair food and other treats. But my Dad
knew that giving us an allowance for the fair was a simple
lesson in fiscal discipline and every summer we would go
through the same routine.
What are you teaching your children about money? Today
there are beneficial resources available to parents for
teaching kids about financial management. Take a look at
the Jump$tart Coalition. The Coalition's direct objective
is to encourage curriculum enrichment to ensure that basic
personal financial management skills are attained during the
K-12 educational experience. First convened in December,
1995, the Jump$tart Coalition for Personal Financial Literacy
determined that the average student who graduates from high
school lacks basic skills in the management of personal
financial affairs. Many are unable to balance a checkbook and
most simply have no insight into the basic survival principles
involved with earning, spending, saving and investing.
The clearinghouse on their website provides access to personal
finance education materials for use in Kindergarten through 12th
grade. If you want to give your teenager some insight into
what it will take to financially support their dream life once
they are out on their own, have them take the
Reality Check Test.
After they get their results, use this an opportunity to help
them realize their dreams.

Meet
Maria Blackwell
Duluth, GA
I just wanted to tell
you that I LOVE my Couponizer (and so does my husband)! I got it
last week and the next day I saved $22.00 at Kroger PLUS my $5.00
gift card I got from coming to see you at Kroger PLUS coupons for
$1.50 off my next order, $2.75 in free gas and several other coupons
I will use! So, your guarantee is NOT in jeopardy in 60 days. The
Couponizer paid for itself in ONE DAY! Thank you, thank you, thank
you! Also, even more important are the "heart issues" you share!
As I told you, I believe what you are doing is such a God-honoring
thing it can't help but be successful! Thanks for everything! I
have already started telling friends about the Couponizer.
*A note to Kroger:
I haven't shopped at Kroger for many years because I felt they were
more expensive but your hints and info about Internet coupons and the Kroger
Plus card have made a Kroger shopper out of me!
