Message from the Executive Director

Dear CCT friends:

Christian Churches Together was officially launched in 2007 this means that as an organization it is still in its infancy; on the other hand all the participant communions and organizations have been around for decades, some of them for thousands of years. As an organization we happen to exist during a time in which sudden and transformational actions and changes can happen in a matter of days. This present a great challenge to an organization like CCT.

How will churches that are used to taking years and decades to implement change behave in this different post modern time and context? More specifically, how can churches who traditionally are slower in implementing changes work together with churches that are able to implement substantial changes in a matter of a few years?

Some churches have raised the following question to CCT: "How ready and willing is CCT to take action on important issues affecting God's people in our country?" What would our answer be.

How can Christian Churches Together address social, economical and theological issues in a timely manner? How much trust do we need in order to move forward?  How long are the new generations and the oppressed willing to wait? What organizational changes do we have to implement in order to be able to seize the moment when we perceive it is the right time or it is the right action to make?

My brain gets anxious and impatient when I believe we are missing a moment of opportunity. At the same time my heart tells me the reason we find ourselves in this journey is because, by the grace of God, we must and we will overcome the stumbling blocks that have obstructed the common action and witness of the churches in our country.

TOGETHER we will forge a faithful way forward.

To Jesus Christ be all glory now and forever!

 Election Day Communion

On November 6, 2012, Election Day,
we will exercise our right to choose.

During the day of November 6, 2012,

we will make different choices
for different reasons,
hoping for different results.

But that evening
while our nation turns its attention
to the outcome of the presidential election,
let's again choose differently.
But this time, let's do it
together.
