PORET AND STAMPERS ON THE PODIUM
UIM F1 World Championship - Doha, QATAR 1, 2 and 3 March 2012
SKIDIVISION
Jeremy PORET, who was comming back from an important knee surgery, dominates the week end and gets: - 1st rank, 2012 UIM World Championship, F1 skidivision - 1st rank, 2012 World Championship, Slalom skidivision. He scores 50 points in F1, winning the pole, the 1st Heat and the 2nd Heat. He also wins the Slalom and scores 25 points in this category.

On the pole position, he gets the fastest lap, wuth over 4 seconds in front the Italian Emanuele BALZER and the French racing for UAE Ludo CAUMONT.

He leads the first heat, in front of Ludo CAUMONT in 2 and Emanuele BALZER in 3, and the second heat in a spectacular manner, in fornt of the French Jean-Baptiste BOTTI in 2 and Ludo CAUMONT in 3. He wins the Night Slalom event, in front of BALZER and IVANCIC.
FREESTYLE
Romain STAMPERS scored 32 points and finished: - 3rd rank, UIM World Championship, Freestyle.
Pole
He ends up with the 1st positon on the pole with 437 points in front of the Russian Alexander KURAMSHIN in 2 and the Slovenian Nac FLORJANCIC in 3.
1st and 2nd Heat
Passing last in front of the judges on the 1st Heat, he scored 481 points behind the FLORJANCIC brothers, Rok and Nac. He gets the same rank on the 2nd Heat, scoring 490 points.
Heptabackflip
Even if STAMPERS, this mythic pilots from Blois (41), gave us a great show, the 2nd Heat from Rok FLORJANCIC was just incredible. He landed gracefully an heptabackflip (yes, yes: SEVEN (7) back flips in a row) scoring 737 points (Is it a World Record?). Freestylers have a lot of pressure for the next races, maybe the originality and the variety of the figures may contribute to over pass this type of performance in front of the judges ?! We deplore the absence of the defending Champion of 2011, the Italian Valerio CALDERONI.
RUNABOUT F1 - 41 pilots
David CHASSIER (18th) and Didier CHABERT (12th) managed to score points in Runabout F1 (1 point and 10 points respectively). Both pilots could not finish the race on the 1st Heat due to holes in the hull caused by physical contact with other PWC. But fortunately, the technical team of the Team Race Spirit managed to repair both bikes for the next day and were abble to dispute the 2nd Heat.
Pole
With an impressive number of 8 different nationalities of 41 pilots in Runabout, the pole was divided in two groups to make a selection of 25 pilots. David CHASSIER from Blois (41) ranked 22nd with 20.71s down for his best lap and Didier CHABERT from Lyon (69) ranked 12th with 12.06s down behind the pole leader, the French Francois MEDORI.
1st and 2nd Heat
The 1st Heat, of 15 laps, including the 25 best lap from the pole was intense with over ten mechanical problems and accidents. The two pilots from the Team Race Spirit had to abandon the race and came back to the paddock before the end. David CHASSIER stops after 3 laps and comes back with a huge hole on the left side of the hull caused by a contact with another PWC during the Hotshot. He ends uo with the 23rd position on the 1st Heat. Didier CHABERT makes the show by ejecting himself off after 11 laps and must resigned to quit because of a 1m long scratch under the bike, finishing 16th.
The 2nd Heat takes place with no problem, with a 15th position from David CHASSIER and a 6th position for Didier CHABERT.
