Welcome to our December newsletter. As I am sure you have heard by now, Evergreen has had a very busy year. We have added many new employees to the team, new services lines to our business and we are expanding throughout the Gulf Coast.
Included in this update is a spotlight on a recent project where Evergreen provided a safe, timely and cost-effective solution for the customer. We also included some information on our "Ride to the Rally", a fun event with a great cause.
Evergreen is in its eleventh year of business and I believe this is the best one yet. We are looking forward to 2012.
Sincerely,
Jon Hodges

Spotlight - Chemical Cleaning at Evergreen
Below are some excerpts of a write-up from the customer in Lake Charles on a recent chemical cleaning job. Eddie Weilacher, Evergreen's Chemical Cleaning General Manager, and his team set up on Tuesday 9/19/2011, started early Wednesday 9/20/2011, and finished the project early on Friday 9/23/2011 - working daylight hours only. This project was an on-line chemical cleaning with 3% inhibited HCL on the cooling water side of the Deoiling Solvent Coolers in the MEK Unit.
Results of the On-line Cleaning of the Coolers
The Deoiling Solvent Coolers were suspected to be fouled on the cooling water side. Normally, cleaning the exchangers takes place during a unit outage. To take a unit outage would have required approximately seven days of downtime. The economic loss for this downtime is on the order of $1 million a week or greater. (The Deoiling Solvent Coolers are two coolers stacked on top of each other.)
The best result has been the deoiling solvent temperature from the outlet of the solvent coolers has dropped from 170 F to 90 F. This was done without taking the unit off-line.
The results have been excellent. The cooling water flow was increased from 20 gpm to 220 gpm.
On-line Exchanger Cleaning Method
The cleaning took place on day shifts over a three day period from 9/21/11 to 9/23/11. A total of 200 gallons of HCL were used and the cost of the cleaning was $20K, a great result considering the alternatives.

Lone Star "Ride to Rally" 2011
Every year Evergreen hosts a ride to the rally in Galveston, Texas in support of Toys for Tots. This was Evergreen's eighth year to participate and we had over 1,100 people register and over 500 motorcycles! The festivities included: a police escorted ride to Galveston, a poker run and a private party with food, beverages and live music. Sponsors of the event include Baker Corp and Redman Communications.

In addition to the wonderful toys that were donated, the event helped raise over $10,000 for the Toys for Tots program.
