Job Description for the Senior Minister
Preaching and Teaching Responsibilities
· To plan, prepare, and preach weekly messages from the Bible.
· To work with the Worship Minister in planning and coordinating weekend worship services to impact maturing believers and to reach new people.
· To preach funerals and memorial services (as requested).
· To officiate at weddings (as requested), provide premarital counseling to those being married in our church.
· To provide personal and group counseling, or make counseling referrals (as needed), in the appropriate setting. Staff Responsibilities
· To provide direction to the entire church staff, including other ministerial staff, secretaries, and custodian.
· To be a mentor and resource for the other ministerial staff to help them in their growth and development.
· To conduct weekly or bi-weekly staff meetings to promote staff unity and to insure the staff's awareness of church plans, activities, and work schedules.
· To evaluate (on a semi-annual basis) each staff member and the effectiveness of their ministry in coordination with the Elders. At the same time seeking evaluation from each staff member.
· Partner with, report to and to be held accountable by the Elders. Leadership Responsibilities
· To work together with the Elders and other staff in leading the church's ministry. Meeting together with them once a month for business, study, and prayer. To present, communicate and carry out the vision of the church to congregation and staff.
· To work with the Elders and other staff in shepherding the flock, which includes hospital and nursing home calls, home visitation, personal contacts, etc.
· To help equip the members of the congregation, along with the Elders and the other staff, to serve in our ministry - assisting them to identify and use their spiritual gifts.
· To constantly challenge members to grow their relationship with Jesus and grow their faith.
· To assist our ministry teams and committees in their planning and programming (as needed). o Sunday School Classes

o Children and youth programs, Vacation Bible School
o Senior programs
o To mentor and coach new leaders and teachers.
· To oversee the church's benevolence.
· To work together with the Finance Committee, Elders, and other staff in challenging our congregation toward a growing stewardship.
Evangelistic Responsibilities
· To work with the Connection Team to follow-up on recent guests.
· To be involved in community organizations and events.
· To perform the duties of the great commission as found in Matthew 28:19-20.
Other Responsibilities
· To work with the Missions Committee, Elders, and other staff in planning and directing our missions outreach, including missions trips.
· To write an article as well as other news items for our church's news letter.

Growth Pastor, Central Christian Church

Central Christian Church, a rapidly growing church in the Las Vegas Valley seeks a full-time pastor to work with the High School Small Group Pastor to recruit, build and develop the small group structure, Weekends/Wednesday volunteer teams, high school events, and evangelistic opportunities.
This person will need to have strong leadership, relational, and communication skills. They will also need to possess strong problem solving and discernment abilities in dealing with students, leaders, and parents.
We are seeking someone who will:
Own the Small Group Structure
. Recruit, develop and train leaders.
. Lead House Leaders - Create 2 Timothy 2:2 culture
. Write / Oversee Curriculum Development (High School appropriate)
Mobilize and Lead the Weekend Team
Teach God's Word to students, leaders and parents
Be a Point leader at High School Events
. Role sometimes includes budget creation, overall strategy, logistics (buses, registration, etc), volunteer placement and other event specific details.
Our ideal Growth Pastor will possess leadership and equipping gifts, administrative and communication skills and have a practiced knowledge of church leadership. He/she will serve in helping advance the Kingdom of God through Central's mission, core values, purposes and strategic plan. Must have a passion for High School Students and leading them in connecting the unconnected and together become fully devoted to Christ. Must have at least two years' experience in a High School small group based church setting and relevant education.
