Youth/Family Minister, Central Christian Church

Rockford, IL

Central Christian Church of Rockford, Illinois is seeking a full-time Youth/Family Minister to coordinate ministry to youth which establishes and nurtures a solid Biblical foundation. This foundation should equip not only the youth, but also their families, in developing the appropriate Christian world view, lifestyle, and personal relationship with Christ.

A qualified candidate must believe the Bible is our one true and final authority for faith and practice, and be doctrinally sound in Restoration Movement beliefs. Fulltime experience is preferred.

The Youth/Family Minister is responsible for all aspects of the youth/family ministries related to 5th, 6th, Junior High, Senior High, and College age students. He will work to help the youth grow into a saving faith in Jesus Christ and on into spiritual maturity and at the same time, strengthen families and equip parents to be more effective in their work.

We believe a truly Biblical model of ministry is inter-generational. He must be able to recruit and train adults to help accomplish this ministry, and humbly work with the elders and other ministers in building up the body of Christ as a whole.

Rockford is located near the Illinois/Wisconsin border, 90 miles northwest of Chicago. Our facility is located on the east side of this 350,000 population metropolitan area.

Minister, First Christian Church

Linden, TN

First Christian Church is a 125 year old church in a rural community in middle Tennessee. Linden has a population of about 2000 and Perry County about 8,000. We are located approximately 1 ½ hours west of Nashville and 1 hour east of Jackson.

Average church attendance is about 50 (90-100 one year ago). Average Sunday school attendance is approximately 25 and Wed. night bible study approximately 25.

Our worship style is currently traditional. We tend to be "musically challenged", so a background in leading a song service would be a plus.

Currently our weekly activities are: Sunday morning worship service, Sunday school, and Wed. night fellowship meal and bible study. Sunday night is reserved for the minister to freelance. (Youth activity, Senior member activity, service or any activity that would be beneficial to the vision of FCC.

We have no staff, but volunteers are available for various duties. Church bulletin, song selection, power point input.

We have approximately 10 children under the age of twelve, and 3-4 teenagers. We would like someone that could also relate and minister to the youth. This is an area of growth that can be immediately achieved.

The church is governed by a board of 3 elders elected from the congregation. All elders are capable of preaching and teaching. Although the minister is not considered a voting elder, he will certainly work extremely close with the elders. All business and spiritual matters will be overseen by the elders with input from the minister.

The facility was built in 1966 and seats approx. 200 people. We have recently installed an overhead screen and currently utilize power point to play recorded music until we can acquire a piano player.

Duties include the following ministries: preaching, teaching, visiting, counseling, outreach, assisting /planning church programs, youth programs and or activities. Song leading would be a plus.

Job Requirements will include:

• Preaching and teaching the Word of God
• Sun. Morning Sermon, Wed. night Bible study, Sunday School teacher (youth or adults).
• Visitation of the sick and help shepherd the flock
• Ordering needed supplies for the church daily activities (excluding cleaning supplies)
• Officiating at funerals and marriages
• Coordinating the daily church operations.
• Attended all weekly or monthly Elders meetings.
• Participate in the local ministerial alliance and occasional Food Bank.
• Coordinate and attend the yearly Tenn. Teen Christian Convention in Gatlinburg , Tn (if enough youth have committed to attend.)

We have a newly remodeled 3 BR brick parsonage available next to the church. A church mini-van is provided for local use. Salary $26,000/yr, with paid utilities. All life and health insurance will be the responsibility of the candidate.

Qualifications must include a degree from a college or university affiliated with the Christian Church/Churches of Christ, strong people skills, strong oral and written communications skills, and a strong interest in local outreach. Our candidate will need to hold beliefs consistent with those of the Restoration movement, and those of the non-denominational Christian Church.

Lead Church Planter, Northern Plains Evangelistic Assn

Sheridan WY

Northern Plains Evangelistic Association is seeking to hire a full time lead church planter. The church plant will be in Sheridan, WY. The community has roughly 20,000 people.

The planter will need to be on site in January of 2013, with the plant starting in Sept. of 2013. The salary will be negotiated based on past experience and qualifications. This will be a multi staff plant. The potential candidate will have a B.A with and M.A. preferred and 3-5 years of preaching experience.
