The grand opening event takes place at the offices of Internal Medicine Associates at The Residences at Balfour at 1336 East Hecla Drive, Louisville, Colorado on Friday, June 17th, with a ribbon cutting beginning at 4:30 p.m. and a reception to follow.

The opening of Internal Medicine Associates at Balfour is another key differentiator for the senior living community, in that it has a geriatric internist on site one day a week and a nurse practitioner on site four days a week.

Internal Medicine Associates of Boulder Community Hospital is located in Balfour's independent living community and is open from 8:30 am – 5:00 pm, Monday-Friday. The grand opening is a key milestone for Balfour's senior management in that it marks the achievement of a vision to complement its full continuum of care and strong wellness program for residents. Finding the right doctor, scheduling appointments and transportation for medical attention often present obstacles for seniors in maintaining wellness or receiving treatment. An on-site medical clinic staffed by gerontology specialists is a significant benefit to patients.

Dr. Huang is board certified in geriatrics and internal medicine. She received a combined medical and business degree (Healthcare Management) from Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston in 2004. Her bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry is from Brandeis University. She is an active member of the American Geriatrics Society.

Marcia Patterson is a certified nurse practitioner with more than 30 years' experience in health care. She received her Masters of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston in 1998 with a specialization in adult health and gerontology. She is a member of both the American Geriatrics Society and American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
