Out Executing the Competition?
A report in Harvard Business Review reveals that 'employees at three out of five companies rated their organization weak at execution----that is, when asked if they agreed with this statement "Important strategic and operational decisions are quickly translated into action," the majority answered no.

Startling?  Are you surprised?  Maybe at the magnitude.....60%!   That means that if your organization is representative, that only 4/10 of the people in your organization are working on things that matter most. No wonder it takes so long to implement strategies!

Perhaps this all starts with other mind boggling statistics reported by Steve Covey in his book 'The 8th Habit'.   Covey's consulting firm has surveyed 2 ½ million people all over the world; here are some of the results that may provide some clues as to why your people aren't working on the things that really matter.  Only 23 % said that they understood the goals and strategy of their firms.  Only 22 % said that they were clear on how their jobs contributed to the success of their companies and only 10 % said that they were committed to the goals of their organization and their departments.
So you say, "not in my company".   What makes you so sure?  Why is your firm so different?  What evidence do you have?  Interested in finding out the facts and not the guessing?
