GOLFHamilton Chamber's annual golf tournament

 

The Hamilton Chamber is hosting our annual golf tournament on Tuesday June 5 at Heron Point, a tremendous Clublink course. The event provides a great way for you to bring your key clients out for a fun day of golf and great food.   You can register a foursome or register single golfers and we will team you up with some new colleagues! SMARTSmart Commute - Bike to Work Day: Monday May 28

 

At the Hamilton Economic Summit on May 10, Hamilton Chamber of Commerce President and CEO David Adames announced a new partnership with Smart Commute Hamilton that will provide a suite of sustainable transportation services to Chamber members and their employees. In an effort to further enhance the benefits of membership, Chamber members will now have access to a state of the art online ride-matching website, www.carpoolzone.ca, which will allow employees of Chamber members to match up with each other to minimize the cost of commuting. Another initiative that Chamber members can participate in is "Bike to Work Day" this coming Monday May 28. By participating, you could win one of two great prizes - a trip to Quebec City courtesy of VIA Rail or a weekend cycling getaway to St. Catharines courtesy of Welcome Cyclists. HCCIHamilton Centre for Civic Inclusion's annual Report to the Community Breakfast

 

The Hamilton Chamber is proud to support HCCI's annual event. Diversity matters...and there's no better way to reconnect with the issues and rekindle your enthusiasm than to attend Hamilton Centre for Civic Inclusion's annual Report to the Community Breakfast, taking place Monday June 12, 2012, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Hamilton Convention Centre. This year's event will feature guest speaker Alan Broadbent, one of Canada's top immigrant supporters and philanthropists, who will be speaking on the role of organizations, including the private sector, in creating an inclusive community. Alan is chairman and CEO of the Avana Capital Corporation, an organization that initiates and funds civic engagement projects. He is also chairman of The Maytree Foundation, the Caledon Institute of Social Policy and Tamarack, and has played an important role in many other progressive organizations and projects. His book, Urban Nation: Why we Need to Give Power Back to the Cities to Make Canada Strong, was published in 2008. CCAGMHamilton Chamber hosting Canadian Chamber of Commerce AGM

 

On behalf of the Communications Committee of our Host Organizing Committee for the 2012 Canadian Chamber of Commerce AGM (Conference), we are writing to each Chamber member for their assistance. As part of our communications strategy we would like to feature your special anniversaries and accomplishments during 2012. It is our intention to write stories for the Conference website, including the Conference BLOG, as well as use our Chamber website celebrating our members and our community. So if 2012 is a special anniversary for your organization, starting at 25 years and going up in 5 year intervals, we want to hear from you. Here are some examples: McMaster University - 125 years, Hamilton-Burlington SPCA - 125 years, ArcelorMittal Dofasco - 100 years, St. John Ambulance - 100 years, Hamilton Port Authority - 100 years, CKOC Radio - 90 years, United Way of Burlington & Greater Hamilton - 85 years, Theatre Aquarius - 40 years, Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum - 40 years and Fox 40 - 25 years to name but a few. So if this is a special anniversary for your business please let us know. We will want to interview you so please provide us with a contact as well, send information to w.simmons@hamiltonchamber.ca. Your stories will help us set the stage for an exciting time in Hamilton September 20 - 25 as we open the door to all of the Chambers of Commerce in Canada.

Competitiveness Survey: Early Childhood Education

 

As part of the chamber network's ongoing consultation on the issues related to skills/competitiveness, the Canadian Chamber is asking for input with a survey to gather your input on this important issue under the skills umbrella. This is the sixth survey we have sought your input on. This short survey (4 questions) focuses on issues relative to early childhood education programs.
