summitHamilton Economic Summit - Follow up underway

Last Thursday May 10, the Chamber hosted the 5th Annual Hamilton Economic Summit at the Hamilton Convention Centre based on the topic "Hamilton's role in the regional economy and beyond". On behalf of the Chamber team, I would like to thank our Honourary Co-Chairs Rebecca Wissenz and Richard Koroscil, our facilitators and panelists, our sponsors, and all delegates for your support of what was a tremendous anniversary Summit. We are now reviewing the suggested priorities for the Summit Scorecard and will be sending those out to delegates tomorrow along with an evaluation form. Please watch Pipeline in the coming weeks on the action plan for the Hamilton Economic Summit.

smart1Hamilton Chamber and Smart Commute Hamilton partnership

At the Hamilton Economic Summit, Hamilton Chamber of Commerce President and CEO David Adames announced a new partnership with Smart Commute Hamilton that will provide a suite of sustainable transportation services to Chamber members and their employees. In an effort to further enhance the benefits of membership, Chamber members will now have access to a state of the art online ride-matching website, www.carpoolzone.ca, which will allow employees of members to match up with each other to minimize the cost of commuting while working together to prevent greenhouse gas emissions. Chamber members will also have access to tools and services to promote active transportation and public transit as commuting options. If you have any questions, please contact Diane Stephenson at d.stephenson@hamiltonchamber.ca or 905-522-1151 ext. 220.
