Hamilton Economic Summit - 5th Annual: Thursday May 10

On Thursday May 10, the Chamber will host the 5th Annual Hamilton Economic Summit at the Hamilton Convention Centre based on the topic "Hamilton's role in the regional economy and beyond". This is the must-attend business event of the year. There will be both an Executive and Sales track. Dr. David Foot, author of "Boom, Bust and Echo", will deliver the Summit's keynote address and David will provide important demographic information for business to use in their everyday work. The day will also include break-out sessions covering seven subjects: Advanced Manufacturing, Creative Industries, Education, Health Sciences, Real Estate, Small Business and Transportation. . The Summit will also profile 5 business success stories from the past year. Attendees will have the opportunity to provide input to the Summit Scorecard, or "to do" list that the Chamber will focus on delivering in the next year. Panorama Supplement in today's Hamilton Spectator

Be sure to read today's Hamilton Business magazine in The Hamilton Spectator which contains the second edition of the four-page Hamilton Chamber Panorama supplement. Panorama includes messages from our Board Chair and CEO, updates from our Divisions and Committees, welcomes new members and profiles some April Chamber events. The magazine also includes an article from the Chamber about smart business practices.

New home for the Hamilton Chamber

On April 30, the Hamilton Chamber moved our offices to downtown Hamilton. We are now located at 120 King Street West, Suite 770. Our phone number remains the same at 905-522-1151. In June, we will move to our permanent office at the same address, but on the Plaza Level, Suite 507. Our Divisions and Committees will continue to meet at the same locations until the end of June. Please watch for updates on meeting locations for the September start of Division and Committee meetings.

Chamber Events and Updates

Rally for West Lincoln Hospital: A rally is planned for tonight (Wednesday May 2 at 7pm at Grimsby Secondary School, 5 Boulton Ave.). The rally is to address the recent cancellation of the $136.8 million redevelopment of the hospital. We have had some Chamber members inquire about the status of this project.
